Emily’s POV

And just like that, the doctor walked out, leaving me sitting there, frozen.

I don’t even remember how I made it out of his office. One minute, I was crying to him and the next, I was walking down the hallway with tears streaming down my cheeks.

Everything around me felt like a blur, from the white walls, to the faint beeping of machines somewhere down the corridor. My chest ached, and my throat burned from trying not to sob too loudly.

By the time I reached the lobby, my legs were trembling. I sank onto one of the chairs and buried my face in my hands. I was shaking so badly I could barely breathe.

What was I supposed to do now?

Where on earth was I going to find that kind of money? Seven thousand dollars.

I pressed my hands to my face, trying to steady myself, but the tears wouldn’t stop. All I could think about was my grandmother lying there, needing help, needing me and I had nothing.

I felt utterly devastated by the doctor’s words and helplessness, the thought of my

  • Desired by the Billionaire Playboy    Chapter 14: It couldn't be

Emily's POV My cheeks burned instantly. I looked up at him, trying to force a small smile. I didn’t even know why my heart was beating so fast. This was all just insane. Then came the sound of a camera click and then another. Then a blinding flash.“Oh my gosh, congratulations!” someone said in the background.I blinked as I turned slightly, catching sight of people filming us with their phones. Someone’s voice came loud and clear through a camera mic:“We are live at Sparkle Green Hotel! Famous CEO, Mr. Tyler Miller, has just gotten married to a beautiful woman right here in the Banquet Hall and it’s the same woman, Emily Dawson!”Everyone would see this—the photos, the headlines. And right in the middle of it all, Tyler pulled me a little closer, still swaying as if we were the happiest couple alive. As we kept dancing, he leaned in close enough that his breath brushed my ear.“See those cameras?” he murmured. “They’re rewriting your story. By tomorrow morning, no one will call you

  • Desired by the Billionaire Playboy    Chapter 13: Legally his wife

Emily's POV The man in a black suit walked up to us, carrying a leather folder. He bowed slightly.“Good morning, Mr. Miller. Miss Emily,” he said formally. “My name is Mr. Harris. I'm the legal representative of Miller Enterprises. I’ll be officiating the signing of the private marital agreement today.”His voice was calm yet it still made my heart race.“This will serve as a binding contract under civil law, effective immediately after both parties sign.”I blinked at him, unsure whether I heard right. So this was it? No vows, no priest, no ring exchange? It suddenly hit me that we weren’t having a real wedding. We were just here to sign a bunch of papers. Then why all this? The dress, the makeup. Why did he have to book the hotel banquet hall, I didn’t understand.Mr. Harris continued, flipping open the file in his hands. “This agreement establishes a legal marriage between Mr. Tyler Miller and Ms. Emily Dawson, valid for a period of one year under the conditions stated below.”A

  • Desired by the Billionaire Playboy    Chapter 12: Shall we?

Emily's POVSuddenly, there was a knock on the door. I adjusted my dress and looked at Wendy.“I’ll get it,” Wendy said, already walking toward it. I turned to look at her, probably expecting it to be another hotel staff or something. But the moment she opened the door, she froze completely.“Wendy?” I called softly. “Who is—”Then I saw Tyler, standing right in the doorway. My breath hitched in my throat.“You…”That was the only word that came out of my mouth as I stared at him. He looked… I didn’t even know what word to use. Sharp? Beautiful? Dangerous? He was dressed in a perfectly tailored black suit that probably cost more than my entire life savings, his hair styled neatly, the light catching on his wristwatch. In his hand, he held a bouquet of red roses.“For my bride,” he said smoothly, his lips curving into that familiar smirk. He handed me the roses, and I hesitated before taking them, my palms were trembling slightly.“Th-thank you,” I murmured, staring down at the flowers

  • Desired by the Billionaire Playboy    Chapter 11: Royalty?

Emily’s POVI kept fiddling with my fingers in the car as we drove to the hotel. My nerves just wouldn’t settle. Apparently, Tyler had sent a driver to pick us up. And when I saw him, my stomach twisted. It was the same man from yesterday. At first, I thought maybe I was mistaken. But then Tyler called him while we were getting ready, and the moment I heard his voice through the speaker, I knew I wasn’t wrong. It was the so-called delivery guy. Now, sitting quietly in the backseat beside Wendy, I couldn’t help but wonder. Why had a delivery guy been the one to bring my wedding dress yesterday, and now he was suddenly the driver? Did that mean he worked directly for Tyler?Either way, I didn’t ask. I just sat there, eyes fixed on the road ahead as we drove toward Sparkle Green Hotel. The same hotel where, in just a few hours, I was supposed to get married.“Relax,” Wendy told me softly, placing a hand on my shoulder.I glanced at her and tried to force a smile, but it didn’t quite re

  • Desired by the Billionaire Playboy    Chapter 10: Are you crazy?

Emily's POV:As I opened the door to the house, my head was spinning. Everything happened so fast.First, I got rejected at the company. Then, I was at the hospital crying. Then, out of nowhere, the man I’d had a one-night stand with suddenly appeared. He's apparently a filthy rich billionaire. And now, somehow, I was supposed to get married to him tomorrow at some place called Sparkle Green Hotel. Sounded like one of those fancy, five-star places I’d only ever seen in movies.I still couldn’t believe it.As soon as I stepped inside, Wendy rushed toward me. “Emily!” She threw her arms around me so tight, I almost choked.“Wendy— I can’t breathe,” I gasped. She quickly pulled away with widened eyes. “Oh my God, I was just about to go to the police station!”“What? Police station?”“Yes!” she exclaimed, pointing toward her purse on the table. “To file a complaint that you were missing! You left in the morning for a job interview and didn’t call me nor take my calls. It’s already 6 p.m.

  • Desired by the Billionaire Playboy    Chapter 9: Smart choice

Tyler's POV“Three…” I counted, keeping my tone calm. She just stared at me, eyes wide and confused, like she couldn’t decide if this was a joke or a nightmare.“Two—”“Wait!” she gasped suddenly. “Wait, please.”I stopped counting, tilting my head slightly as I looked at her. Her chest was rising and falling fast, her eyes glistening with tears. “I’m listening,” I smirked.“I’ll… I’ll marry you,” she whispered, so softly that I almost didn't hear it.Wl, I wasn't surprised. I knew that would be the answer.I smiled in satisfaction. “Smart choice, baby doll.”She didn’t have anyone else, and she knew I was the only one who could fix this. Of course she'd say yes to me.She dropped back into her seat as though to recollect her thoughts. I watched her quietly for a moment, she looked so fragile.“You don’t need to look so disturbed,” I said, leaning a little closer. “I mean, it’s not like I’m forcing you into a cage or anything.”Her eyes turned toward me.The reason I needed to get ma
