Scene: Underworld Bar

Cris – POV

The bar reeked of sin and sulfur.

Smoke curled through the air like ghosts hungry for flesh. Bodies moved in slow chaos—drunken rogues, low-level demons, witches nursing broken spells. The Underworld’s forgotten came here to disappear.

But we weren’t here to disappear.

We were here to find him.

Damien stood still near the back wall, arms folded, face carved from stone. His golden eyes didn’t blink once as they scanned the crowd. Not even when a drunken satyr bumped into him and slurred, “Watch it, mutt.”

The satyr didn’t get a second word out.

I shoved him to the ground with silent precision, barely even glancing at him.

“There,” I said under my breath.

I didn’t need to point. Damien had already locked eyes on him—Ashiel’s mate. Tall. Lean. Ocean-gray eyes and a predator’s stillness. Beautiful in a cold, calculated way. He was speaking to someone cloaked in shadows—probably a dealer. His aura flickered with secrets and rot.

Damien smirked. “Found you.”

  • Destined mate   Blood and deception

Third Person POV – Damien stood with his arms crossed, eyes locked on the Alpha seated high on his throne. He exhaled sharply; his mind was already heavy with everything that had been happening.“Damien, why did you call for me?” the Alpha asked, exhaustion tugging at his features as he rested his face in his hands.“I’ll go straight to the point,” Damien said, his voice echoing across the hall. “What happened to my mother and Cris’s mother?”The Alpha went still, then relaxed back into the seat.“What do you want to know about them?”“How did they die?”“You already know,” Maelrik said plainly. “Your mother was poisoned, and Cris’s mother… she was killed. It was painful. I never avenged their death.”“That doesn’t answer my question, Maelrik.” Damien ran a hand through his hair and moved to one of the seats. “You know very well their deaths are connected, don’t you?”“I… you might be mistaken, Damien.”“Mistaken?” Damien let out a dry, bitter laugh. “Our mothers died, and you did no

  • Destined mate   Unspoken Things

Damien — POVThe moment the woman called Lisa stepped into the room, I froze. She was the same woman Dmitri had shown me.Luxian’s ex.Luxian bolted from the room before I could react. I chased after him, calling his name, but he didn’t stop. He rushed into his room and locked the door behind him.“Hey, baby… calm down, okay?” I said softly, keeping my voice steady. I couldn’t afford to make any rash move that might trigger his sickness.“If you don’t want to say anything, that’s fine. Tell me when you’re ready. I’ll always be here for you.”I stood outside the door, waiting. He didn’t come out.“Has he come out yet?” Cris asked from behind me.I turned to face him and the others.“Not yet…”I was relieved they didn’t ask what was wrong. I didn’t know how to explain it myself—it was Luxian’s story to tell, not mine.I took a deep breath and glanced back at the door.“He’ll come out when he’s ready. You all should go and rest. I need to speak with the Alpha.”I walked past them, then s

  • Destined mate   Crossroads

Damien’s POV Stepping into the park felt like walking into a battlefield I hadn’t chosen—but if I wanted to play Leif’s game, this was the starting point. The truth was here, and I would take it out myself. Cris and Ashiel behind me, Envy and Gluttony trailing. We stopped at the Alpha meeting room. Maelrik sat rigid in his chair. Stella and Bianca beside him, their faces masks of politeness—or fear. “Damien,” Maelrik said without meeting my eyes. “How have you been?” I offered the hollow, robotic smile I’d worn since childhood. “Cut the niceties. Where’s the doctor?” He lifted a brow. “What do you mean?” “An Alpha who doesn’t even know what’s happening in his own park?” Cris’s laugh was low and dark. “How dare you speak like that,” Valric growled. “Watch your tone, Valric,” Ashiel snapped. “What gives you the right to talk back?” Bella barked. “Enough,” Maelrik’s Alpha voice cut through. Every Luna stiffened. Even Ashiel froze. I rolled my eyes, unimpressed. “Damien,” Mael

  • Destined mate   The price for the truth

Damien’s POV I scanned the woods, waiting for any sign of Leif. Envy and Gluttony stood at the edge of the forest, arms crossed. Cris and Ashiel were beside me, both still on guard—they didn’t trust them. But for some reason, I did. I didn’t even know why. “You shouldn’t have summoned them, Damien,” Ashiel said quietly. “Relax, guys,” I replied calmly. “They helped me regain some of my strength.” Cris glanced at me, then turned his gaze back toward them. “Leif wanted us to meet him here, right?” he asked. “Yes,” Ashiel groaned. “I don’t know why he isn’t here yet.” I turned to Gluttony. “How are the boys?” “Sloth is with them now,” he answered. “Good. We need to hurry and get back to them.” “Someone else is here…” Envy murmured, suddenly alert. A familiar voice echoed through the trees. “You brought some friends along, I see.” Leif appeared from the shadows. “Why did you call us here?” I demanded, cutting straight to the point. “So angry…” He smiled slyly. “How did you

  • Destined mate   The Unwelcome Guest

Luxian POVWe were led into the pack house and directed straight to the Alpha’s office. Luna Stella sat at his side, her eyes narrowing the moment they landed on me. It wasn’t just dislike — it was venom.“I don’t think she likes you,” Lucy’s voice murmured inside me.You think I don’t know that? I bit back inwardly. The Alpha looked up with a warm smile. “It’s good to see you again.”“The feeling is mutual, Alpha,” I said, bowing slightly.“Where are my boys?” he asked calmly. My gaze flicked toward the doorway where Sloth leaned lazily against the frame, eyes shut as though none of this mattered. Sensing me watching, he cracked one eye open. “They’re busy right now, but they’ll join us soon.”“And who are they?” the Alpha asked, nodding toward Sloth and Derick.“He’s my brother,” Ken said quickly, gesturing to Derick. The Alpha nodded, then shifted his attention to Sloth. “You’re not human, and you’re not a werewolf… what are you?”“A demon,” Sloth answered, smiling lazily.“You bro

  • Destined mate   Bonds in Fracture

Ashiel’s POVI leaned against the office door, listening to Damien pacing restlessly while Cris’s fingers tapped furiously against the keyboard as he searched for Ken location through the tracker he put on him.My chest was tight with worry—not just for them, but for Derick. I’d been giving him space lately, not because of all the chaos surrounding us, but because of… my feelings.Feelings I didn’t want to admit. Feelings I shouldn’t have. How could I possibly have feelings for him when I’d just been rejected? I couldn’t risk another rejection. Not again. And now he was gone. To where, I didn’t know. The thought twisted my stomach. What if something happened to him? I couldn’t bear to lose someone else. Not again.“You seem… lost,” Envy’s mocking voice cut through my thoughts. “I get Damien and Cris—they’re acting like this because their mates are missing. But you? Or maybe you’re just worried about them.” He tilted his head, eyes gleaming. “No, that’s not it. You were rejected. I can
