LOGINA medical report shows me my husband's true colors. I've been diagnosed with late-stage stomach cancer. Yet, my husband gives our life savings to someone else. I lunge at him to take my anger out on him, but he shoves me to the floor. "Lillian needs the money to open up a shop, you madwoman! So what if I've given her the money? "You have late-stage stomach cancer, so it's the end of the line for you! Why are you trying to compete with someone who has a long life ahead when you already have one foot in the grave? You can't expect Mom and I to lose everything because of you, right?" I sit dazedly on the floor. I've never found him more unfamiliar. After that, I sneak all my wedding gifts out, wanting to sell them for money. However, I'm told they're all fakes. My husband sneers. "I'm glad I had the foresight to switch them out for the real deal. You would've taken all the money if not for that!" Later, the hospital called to say there was an issue with their system. The names on the medical reports were wrongly indicated. I ask my husband, "Why are you competing with someone who has a long life ahead when you already have one foot in the grave?"

For three years of marriage, I have been hiding the truth from my alpha husband—I am the daughter of the Alpha King, rather than the omega he knows me to be.
The drums thundered through the clearing as torches lit the night sky. I stood at the center of it all, cloaked in silver and pride, watching the gates with a heart full of hope.
Jason was finally home after a brutal war. As Luna, I’d spent days making sure every detail was perfect tonight, from the linens to the floral centerpieces. I even assisted the omegas with the cooking just to make sure everything was just right.
A month ago, the almighty Alpha King sent Jason to eliminate the rogue wolves at the border of our pack grounds.
Some people might think it’s a bad thing, but I know what it really was. It was good, my dad is slowly coming to accept him. He is giving him more responsibilities to see if he can handle the truth that he married his daughter.
The pride I feel for Jason is indescribable. Finally, everything is falling into place and my dad will recognize that there is no better mate for me than him.
I waited patiently, smiling as I imagined the surprise on his face when I finally had the opportunity to confess everything to him.
“The Shadowclaw Pack welcomes home its future heir!” Jason’s voice rang out, commanding.
The cheers rose instantly. I blinked, confused, until I saw her.
Viki Mayers.
Clinging to his arm like she’d always belonged there. Her dress hugged a gently swollen belly, and Jason’s hand… settled there, proudly.
“This is Viki, our top warrior’s daughter,” he said, turning to face me. “And she’s carrying my pup.”
Gasps rippled. My vision blurred.
My mate. My Alpha. The man I had waited for… had returned to me with another woman carrying his pup.
And Jason didn’t even have the decency to tell me beforehand. Instead, he humiliated me at the celebration I had organized for him.
It felt like my heart was tearing in two. Every inhale was a struggle to maintain my composure. I could hear every whisper that slithered through the crowd:
"Luna Talia never conceived in three years..."
"Viki should have been Luna in the first place..."
“Luna Talia should step down now…”
Jason’s gaze swept over the room and he held no regret. He looked at me with cool indifference, as if I should’ve expected him to make a laughingstock of me.
"To a prosperous future for Shadowclaw!" Jason raised his goblet.
Everyone raised their wine glasses, cheering and clapping. The pack’s elders smiled and nodded, satisfied with the young Alpha’s accomplishments.
And I wanted to scream.
I slipped away during the congratulations and returned to our chamber. No one came looking for me. No one cared.
I allowed myself to fall apart without prying eyes there to mock me.
My heartbreak soon became rage. I was not going to stand for this. Jason would answer for what he had done.
When Jason finally returned to our chamber, I was already there, waiting.
“You shouldn’t have left. You should be happy for me,” Jason said.
“Happy about you betraying me and having a bastard?” I scoffed.
“Enough of the tantrum. I just made it home and I would like a nice evening with my mate,” Jason sighed.
“So, now you see me as your mate,” I laughed bitterly. "How could you do this to me?”
"You’re being unreasonable," he growled.
"Unreasonable?" My voice rose. "You humiliated me in front of the entire pack, and you expect me to just accept it?”
Jason removed his armor, piece by piece, not even bothering to look at me. "It’s done. She’s pregnant. The pack has an heir. You need to accept this.”
“How do you expect me to accept this?” I took a step forward, snarling. “You caused me pain for AN ENTIRE MONTH because you were betraying the mate bond by sleeping with that slut!”
“I advised the pack doctor to give you pain killers. I will make sure he is punished for not properly taking care of you while I was away,” Jason said nonchalantly.
I balked at his audacity. “And that is supposed to make it right?” I demanded.
"You’ve been Luna for three years and haven’t given me an heir," he said simply, as if that justified everything. "Did you expect me to wait forever?”
“I expected you to treat me as your Luna. I expected you to discuss with me if you wanted a breeder, not…”
“Do you even hear yourself, Talia? Did you forget who you are?” Jason snarled, interrupting me.
“I am your Luna,” I responded, not backing down.
“And a Luna provides heirs, and you can’t even do that. If you can’t provide me with an heir, you’re a Luna in name only. I need more than a worthless barren omega cosplaying as a Luna!”
“How dare you speak to me like that!”
Jason’s expression was unreadable. It was as if I was looking at a stranger. His voice was firm and cold as he said, “You have two options. You can leave, lose your status as Luna, and go back to being an omega. Or you can stay and support.”
"Hey, how's everything going on your side? Any progress with the money yet?" Rupert's voice was tinged with frustration, each word feeling heavy as if it carried a mountain of stress."It's still in progress. You can't rush something like this," I said flatly.I kept my tone relaxed while delighting in the fact that he was struggling.Every so often, I'd catch the sounds of him and Morwenna arguing—her scolding him, him firing back, turning their exchanges into some ridiculous family drama. I smirked as I listened to the chaos unfold."This is all your fault! I should've never let you move out!" Morwenna's accusations rang loud and clear through the phone.I couldn't care less. She could shout as much as she liked—I wasn't even listening.Eventually, Lillian called me, too."Why are you helping that jerk get his money?" She sounded both baffled and angry.I chuckled, dodging the question."Lillian, what do you think matters more—love or money?" I threw out a question with no c
Without a second thought, I packed my bags, eager to leave behind a place suffocating with tension and hostility. Before I left, I glanced back once more. The sunlight crept through the living room curtains, casting a soft glow on my face as if urging me on.I drew a deep breath, caught in the mix of nerves about what lay ahead and the pull of freedom I'd been craving. I closed the door behind me without looking back. The new place was modest, yet it brought me a sense of peace and freedom I'd never experienced before. I decorated it thoughtfully, ensuring it was both inviting and tidy.I hung my landscape paintings on the walls, each a place of solace that helped me find peace during the darkest nights.A few potted plants lined the windowsill. Their quiet resilience reminded me that, no matter how hard things got, I could always find a way to flourish.Deep down, I knew that to truly live for myself, I needed to shed the weight of all the negativity that had burdened me.At th
"How ridiculous!" Morwenna's voice dripped with frustration and bitterness. "If we hadn't pitied you for being an orphan, who in their right mind would have ever thought about marrying you? And now, this is how you repay us—by being so ungrateful!"I couldn't hold back any longer. All the anger and sorrow I had kept buried inside poured out uncontrollably like a wave crashing through a broken barrier.I shot up from my seat, grabbed the glass of water beside me, and hurled it straight into her vile face. Water sprayed everywhere, and the air seemed charged like the moment before a fight broke out."So, I'm the one who deserves to die, and Rupert's the one who should be spared?" My voice trembled with fury, but each word cut through the air with precision. "Who do you think you are, making that judgment?"Wasn't I the one who carried this place all these years, dealing with every little thing? I'm up before dawn, home after dark, working my fingers to the bone."And Rupert? What ha
Morwenna snapped back to reality, her finger jabbing toward my face as she fired accusations at me. "You cold-hearted snake! Rupe is my son and your husband! He's been diagnosed with a serious illness, and you don't give a damn?"You won't even let us take out a loan on the house, huh? What, you think you're the only one who's ever paid for it?"I scoffed, my gaze dripping with sarcasm. "Oh, really? Whatever. Even if I didn't pay for the house, he still can't sell it without my signature. If he's so great, why doesn't he ask that mistress of his to cover his treatment? Why come to me?"Didn't they have all those 'years of history'? I'm sure she wouldn't mind helping him out a little, right?"I turned and walked off, feeling a weight lift off my shoulders like I'd just dodged a bullet.Behind me, Morwenna stomped her foot in frustration. "You! You're unbelievable!"Her voice echoed through the quiet living room. She was trembling with rage but couldn't find the words to fight back
I couldn't help but laugh. If anyone had been caught off guard, it was Rupert and Morwenna. The room went dead silent, and the sound of everyone breathing felt way too loud. The light that filtered in from outside didn't seem warm anymore, and the room sank into a deep chill. They both had the sam
I stood at Lillian's door, my finger grazing the doorbell, a whirlwind of emotions swirling inside me.I met her by chance at a social gathering, and we ended up becoming friends over time. Never in a million years did I expect she'd be the one to tear my marriage apart, or take my emergency funds.
