The tyres screeched to a halt as the driver slammed on the brakes, sending a cloud of dust into the air. Kevin frowned and lifted his head from the documents on his lap. He had been proofreading the materials he was set to present in an important meeting in less than fifteen minutes when the abrupt stop interrupted him.

"Ronnie, what happened?"Kevin asked deepening the frown on his face.

"Sir, a dog jumped onto the road and..."

"And you slammed the brakes for a dog? Are you serious?" Kevin interrupted, irritated.

Ronnie could testify that Kevin's eyebrows nearly met due to the deep frown on his face.

"No sir. A young girl just ran onto the road after the dog but I swear I didn't hurt her," Ronnie hurriedly explained.

"Don’t explain. Just get out and check on her. I swear if I get late for the meeting I'm going to kill you." Kevin snapped through gritted teeth. But after a while, he followed him out as he knew how slow his driver could sometimes be, he could take forever to solve such a simple case.

In the middle of the road, Bella sat clutching her dog, her hands trembling slightly. Slowly, she lowered her arms from her face when she realized there had been no impact.

She had been buying snacks at a roadside stall when Rex, her dog, suddenly jumped on the road. Without thinking, she had chased after him, oblivious to the oncoming car. It was only after grabbing Rex that she heard the screech of tyres just inches away from her. Shocked, she sank to the ground, still holding Rex close. Despite her fright, she couldn’t help but admire the driver’s skill in avoiding her.

Looking up, she was surprised to see two men before her, they looked elegant, and from their dress code, she thought they were some sort of businessmen. One of the men was looking at her with concern while the other was staring at her with a frown, not exactly staring but glaring daggers down at her, not like she minded anyway.

She thought they were very handsome. It's not always that she gets impressed by anything, save for a man, but she knows how to appreciate one when she gets one.

"Miss, are you okay, did you get hurt?" The man who was looking at her with concern asked, and she thought he was probably the driver to a certain someone behind him who was glaring daggers down at her. Bella slowly shook her head in denial since she wasn't injured anywhere.

"I'm sorry for jumping onto the road," Bella said in a whisper her face facing the ground with guilt as she tugged her hood. Seeing her behaviour Ronnie just chuckled. All this while he hadn't seen his boss behind him, he wouldn't dare do that if he knew his devil boss was behind him.

"Ronnie, what are you doing? Let's get going before we run late for the meeting, or I'll..."

"You'll kill me, right?" Ronnie replied rolling his eyes and sticking out his tongue as he returned to the driver's seat.

"Young gangster girl, next time, if you want to kill yourself, don't jump on the road again, it might not be effective."

Saying that, Kevin dished out some dollars and gave it to her, in case you still wanted to live you could use it to buy medicine in case you got any injuries, but if you still wanted to die, you and your pathetic dog, maybe you should buy poison, I assure you it's more efficient," Kevin said smirking as he followed his driver in the car.

Bella couldn't comprehend. What the hell was that. She rose immediately and went before Kevin, slamming the car door shut before he could get in. She glared daggers at him, hate evident in her eyes, before stuffing the money back into his hand.

"You know what, I don't need your money Mr Richman, and who wants to kill herself, only a stupid person like you would think that way, and you know what, f**k you," she added raising her two middle fingers before stomping away in anger, Bella might be young but she wasn't always polite to whoever is rude to her.

After taking two steps, she turned and walked back to Kevin, she tiptoed and whispered in his ear before she walked away with a triumphant smile, leaving Kevin behind, fuming with anger.

'Dumbass!'

Kevin couldn't imagine that such a young girl dared call him that, he made a mental note to make her suffer for this.

When Ronnie heard the young girl call his boss stupid he silently prayed for her since his boss never shows mercy to anyone who offends him, let alone calling him stupid! The last time he checked his boss had forced the mayor and his family out of the city just because of his daughter's mistake of drugging him.

"Sir, do you want me to ..." Ronnie started but he was cut short immediately.

"Let's just go!"Kevin spoke, trying to put his anger in check at the moment, he would personally deal with her later, he thought evilly as an evil grin flashed on his face, making Ronnie unconsciously tremble.

Just like before, Kevin once again busied himself, not like he could concentrate on the documents anymore, this was all thanks to the young gangster girl who had spoiled his mood.

"Sir, here we are," Ronnie said as he opened the back seat door for him, and since Jason, Kevin's assistant wasn't around as he was dealing with some pieces of stuff back at the office, Ronnie had to work as one.

They both had graduated from the same school, but Ronnie had more interest in different car models, he chose to go for Kevin's driver as he had quite a collection of different latest car models.

As Kevin stepped down, Ronnie arranged all the documents and followed him to the meeting room.

Since all the other companies in the room were mostly startups and some were incompetent enough, Kevin was granted the contract to have a partnership with the leading software company from Japan.

Saving Grace Orphanage

"Aunt, I am going out today with my friends, and I might not come back for the night, so please don't wait for me," Bella said to her kissing her cheeks.

"Wait, where are you going?"Aunt Rosie asked, concerned. She just couldn't let Bella be on herself, everybody knew she was quite a troublemaker, and not a single day had ever passed without her making trouble somewhere. Today, she wasn't in the mood to deal with any of her nonsense.

One thing she wasn't aware of was that earlier she was nearly hit by a car, and not only that, she had called the owner of the car dumbass.

"Don't worry aunt, I promise I won't make any trouble today, and by the way am not going alone, I am going out with my friends, as this would be our last celebration before graduation," she pleaded with pouted lips and round puppy eyes and as always aunt Rosie gave in to her, she just couldn't resist those eyes.

"Okay, go, but don't cause any trouble or else you're doomed!" Aunt Rosie shouted at Bella's disappearing silhouette.

Once Bella was given permission, she immediately ran out before her aunt changed her mind, not only that, she wasn't ready to listen to her lectures and threats.

Outside the gate, Alex had parked his car, and he was leaning on the passenger seat door waiting for Bella, and as always he was looking handsome in his casual denim pants and a plain white short-sleeved shirt.

Sharon and Akira both sat in the back seat, and they too were putting on simple yet elegant gowns when they saw Bella walking towards the car, they rolled their eyes as Sharon murmured, "Here comes our gangster girlfriend," and they both laughed out.

Sharon, Bella, and Akira were all brought up in the orphanage but they finally were adopted, though Bella too got foster parents, Alex's father once wanted to adopt her but she wasn't ready to part from her aunt Rosie and Becky, her little sister though they were not blood-related, but she treated them as her family.

On the side, Alex had met Bella when she had once protected him from some bullies back when they were in kindergarten, and since then, they remained friends, as he always considered her his hero.

"Like seriously Bella, can't you put on something else other than your gangster uniform? Why do I feel like you are going on a robbery mission instead of a party?"Alex asked shaking his head while the other girls burst out laughing, but Bella just rolled her eyes at them.

Bella was putting on a raged faded denim pants, an oversized t-shirt, a hoodie, black boots, and a cap all black from head to toe, making her look like a young gangster save for her pale porcelain skin which portrayed her innocence.

"So girls let's go celebrate," Alex shouted as he started the engine after he had made sure they were all set with their seatbelts fastened.

"Yeah," the girls shouted back as they were ready to rock the night.
