The sweaty clothes sticking to my body weren't appropriate enough to meet up with Shaw. It was almost 10pm, and I was in the shower, rinsing off the day’s stress that weighed down my shoulders.

This was the only time I could slouch my shoulders. The only time I could allow the water to wash the quiet tears that leaked out of my eyes. My only solitude was for myself, the only part of the old me that was still hanging by a thread.

The warmth of the water, embraced me, wanting me to stay longer in there. Oh, I was desperate for some heat, some warmth that would flood the coldness creeping into my heart.

But of what use was that warmth? It was only made to bring out the soft side of me which the world didn't appreciate. There was no one worthy to see that side of me. That hurt, but I snuffed out that pathetic feeling in seconds. My gaze turned rigid as I stepped out of the shower.
