Darwis' POV

I sat in my cell, my eyes blankly staring at the cold, unfeeling walls. My thoughts kept wandering, trying to find answers to everything that had happened. Approaching footsteps distracted me, and I saw the cell door open. Andrian, my lawyer, entered with a serious expression on his face.

"Darwis, I have bad news," he said matter-of-factly, his voice heavy.

My heart was pounding. "What happened? What happened to Kayra?" I asked anxiously, feeling a deep sense of dread.

Andrian took a deep breath before speaking again. "Kayra had a miscarriage last night. She's now in the prison infirmary."

The world seemed to stop for a moment. Andrian's words hit me like a bolt of lightning in broad daylight. Anger, annoyance, and guilt mixed inside me. "Miscarriage? Because of them? Because of all this?" I shouted, my emotions overflowing uncontrollably.
