Hazel's POV

“You aren't serious!” I hit Liam on his chest. The door flung open, revealing Dominic, and in that moment, my smile was wiped off since he was glaring at his nephew.

“Really? Is this your evening?” he asked, his gaze not leaving Liam, while I bit my lower lip.

“Aren't you supposed to be happy, you get to spend enough time with the kids?” Liam rolled his hands while Dominic scoffed.

“Is that the silly excuse you'll give? You ought to do better and you…” Dominic pointed his fingers at me.

“Even if Liam acts like a kid at times, I expected you to be the voice of reason. Leaving a child with me? That's crazy, knowing how much I act when I'm surrounded by kids,” he thought before shaking his head slowly.

“It's because we know that you would take care of them that's why we left you with them,” I responded warmly.

Dominic's POV Liam dumped his kids with me while he ran away from the party with his mate. “Uncle D, what's the city like?” Mason asked, and he already took his spot on my lap, sitting comfortably. The other people enjoyed the party while I was drained and had a sense of longing for Lucinda. To be honest, I left a note for her on the table and told her I wouldn't be back for a week. Somehow, I wanted to see her expression to confirm whatever it is she feels for me, but looking at the argument yesterday. She might not want to see me and so I left earlier than I'd planned and arrived here in the evening. “The city is just there, lousy and busy,” I responded, giving the kids my attention. A waiter came over with some ice cream and a waffle, I nodded and took two for the kids. “Lousy? If you are tired of there, you can come live in the pack. It's very quiet here, and you might find a friend too,” Maya said in a pitiful way as if staying in the lousy, busy area was a painful experi

Hazel's POV I honestly don't like how things have been happening in the pack. When I visited the women they looked so awful, no matter what their mate said to them it wasn't enough.“I lost my womb! I can't give you a child,” one of them women, Terrain said to her mate with tears strolling down her face. I knew right there, that moment that no amount of words I would say would comfort her.It would be hypocritical if I should tell her that all would be well and that Selene may hear her cries. What exactly would I say to these women?I had been torn, ashamed of my leadership skills. Those voices in my head were loud enough, stating I wasn't good enough and would never be good enough.Words got stuck in my tongue?“Ouch!” I yelped, jerking my hands from the electric kettle. I hissed, shaking my hands because of the pain I felt, I dipped my hands into the water to ease it.“Hey, are you okay?” Liam asked, rushing over to my side. I nodded my head absentmindedly, drawing my hands out of

Hazel's POV ‘Skies!’ Lyra said in my head as we stepped out of the house. Dominic said he would help with the kids while Liam and I could go do our respective duties.Liam barely slept yesterday… So do I!It was hard for me to sleep knowing there were women in the healers' wing, unsure of whether the pain reliever would help. Liam tried to make me sleep, but I told him to leave me be.He didn't do what I asked of him, and he stayed awake trying to make me sleep, and I did eventually, but just for three hours. A nightmare woke me up, and that was enough to keep me awake till daybreak. Liam was in his study room. I didn't want to disturb him, so I dropped a coffee on his table.“Elara?” One of my brows arched when I saw her coming closer to where I stood.“What? Shocked that I am out here to help my Luna,” She sent me a warm smile.“Of course, I am supposed to be resting. I can handle this on my own,” I said, trying to make him change her mind. But she had that adamant look on.“Stop a
