Chapter 126

Patrick Banks

~•~

“Why did you make my mommy angry?” Liam asked as he walked into my room.

I was taken aback by his question.

“What?” I asked with a surprised chuckle.

“You need to apologize to her right now. But you need to get her flowers first.” Liam continued, his voice stern. “Don’t make mommy sad. Do you want the baby to get sad?”

I shook my head. “No, it wasn’t my intention,” I replied, standing up from the bed. “I didn’t mean to make her angry, I was just teasing her but she misunderstood me.”

Liam narrowed his eyes. “Are you sure?”

“Yes.” I nodded. “Can you tell her that I’m sorry?”

“Of course.” He replied before making his way to the door. “Don’t forget the flowers.” He added as he stepped out of the room.

I couldn’t help but laugh. “I won’t forget. In fact, I’m on my way to get them from the store.”

With a smile, he closed the door behind him.

Liam was a really thoughtful and sweet person. I wondered how much Valerie told him about our little misunderst

Chapter 128Patrick Banks~•~It had been over two weeks since Massimo met me at my office to threaten me, but he still hadn’t made a move. So I figured he wouldn’t do anything since he still wanted me to work for him. I didn’t make any move either. But that didn’t mean I was going to continue working for him. In no time, I would cut them loose. I didn’t owe them shit, so I didn’t have to continue doing their dirty work. Letting out a loud yawn, I pushed the blanket away from my body. I had been awake for over thirty minutes, but I just got lost in my thoughts. As I stood up from the bed, I picked up my phone. I dialed my mother’s number. As usual, the phone rang multiple times but she still didn’t respond. How long was she going to continue with this act? It seemed like she had completely cut me off from the family. Ever since we finished at the court and I was fully exonerated, I hadn’t set eyes on my mother. She wasn’t responding to my calls or messages. Even when I went o

Chapter 127Patrick Banks~•~I was in a meeting when my assistant called to tell me that someone was waiting for me at the reception. She also added that the person was impatient and wanted to see me at that moment. When I asked her who the person was, she claimed that the person asked her not to say anything. I ignored her calls and focused on my meeting with my client because she was distracting me. But a few minutes later, my office door creaked open. My brows furrowed as I looked up to see who had the guts to enter my office without even knocking. My heart flew out of my chest for a second when I saw Massimo. What was he doing at my office? And why did he think it was acceptable to walk into my office in the middle of an important meeting with a client? I ignored his presence and carried on with the meeting. He just stood there, his eyes scanning the office. I was getting uncomfortable, so I had to end the meeting. Luckily enough, the client was understanding. After she le

Chapter 125Valerie Will~•~‘Why are you even jealous? It’s not like we are even together.’My eyes burned with rage as Patrick’s voice replayed in my head. Those words made me feel so stupid. Why did he have to say something like that to me? I had no idea why I was even jealous. Madison was an issue in our relationship at some point, so hearing about her made me feel a certain way. And the comments on the blog posts were insensitive, so it pissed me off. Or maybe I was angry because I was carrying his child and he was out there having lunch with his ex. And even when I needed him to protect me, he didn’t answer his phone because of her. Kissing him felt good. I wanted to push him away when he leaned forward to kiss me, but I didn’t. I saw his act as reassurance — I assumed he was trying to let me know that Madison didn’t have a place in his life. That he was always going to choose me. But why did he have to ruin it with that statement? It made me look so desperate. It made me

Chapter 124 Patrick Banks~•~I was away on a business trip when I had an impromptu business meeting back in New York. The trip could go on without me — it was something that my assistant could take care of. So I decided to fly back to New York. But on my way back, I met someone at the airport. Someone I hadn’t seen in years. Madison. She was my ex-girlfriend – the person I last dated before I met Valerie. I didn’t know that she was in New York. We were excited to see each other, so we decided to catch up. Madison followed me to the office and waited until I was done with my meeting. After that, we went to a nearby restaurant to have lunch. While everything was happening, I didn’t know the paparazzi were following us. When Madison and I dated, our relationship was public, so everyone knew about us. That was why they were interested when they saw us hanging out together. But the hangout didn’t mean anything. Madison even had a boyfriend. We were just like two old friends who

Chapter 123 Valerie Will~•~After seeing the doctor, Celeste and I decided to head over to one of our favorite spots. We wanted to hang out for a while and have lunch before heading back home. But on our way there, Celeste abruptly stopped the car. “What’s going on?” I asked, raising a skeptical brow at her. “I think someone is following us.” She said, her voice tense. “What?” I gasped. “How do you know?” “They’ve been taking all the same turns we’ve been taking. I thought it was just a coincidence at first, but I’m certain that they are following us.” My heart started pounding in my chest. I slowly turned around and confirmed that Celeste was right when I saw that the car she said was following us also parked when she stopped. Why were they following us, and how long had it been going on? My hands trembled as I reached out for my phone inside my bag. “What do you think I should do? Should I continue driving or should we stay here?” She asked, her voice cracking slightly.M
