Cassandra’s POV

We walked through the maze, hand in hand. Just like last time, Sebastian seemed to know exactly where he was going.

“I used to play in the maze. When I was a child,” he said. “No one knows this maze better than me.”

We zigged and zagged down the corridors. The sun was shining and since I knew there was no chance of Sebastian ditching me this time, I realized and actually enjoyed the beauty of the maze.

I figured he planted me some sort of garden, but nothing could have prepared me for what he’d actually ‘planted’.

About a half hour in, we turned a corner, and there it was.

My surprise.

There was an opening in the walls, where four different paths led out in four different directions. In the centre, there was a space, about twelve feet across. In the middle of the space was a stone fountain, and all along the fountain were tiny, little statues.

They were made of various metals, silv

  • Divorce and Regret, His Ex-wife is a Billionaire   Chapter 484: Stella’s Words

Cassandra’s POV Sebastian didn’t spend a ton of time with us during the rest of Stella’s visit. He kept making up excuses as to why he couldn’t join us, which I found a bit off-putting. And the time he did spend with us? Well, let’s just say he wasn’t exactly charming. I started to see glimpses of what Stella was talking about. He DID always seem to have his hand on me in one way or another. He was a bit bossy, always ordering for me. We went to the Louvre together, and when Stella declared that she liked a painting, he scoffed. Basically, he made absolutely no effort with Stella. During a trip to the theatre one night, the paparazzi was there. It was the grand opening of a new theatre, and they’d caught wind that we’d be there. Stella was delighted, and she faced the cameras, her hand on her hip, a radiant smile on her face. Sebastian pulled me towards him and turned us to face away from Stella. Stella noticed this, b

  • Divorce and Regret, His Ex-wife is a Billionaire   Chapter 483: Is He Isolating You?

Cassandra’s POV Stella and I took our seats at a lovely little café that was open late. We both opted for a decaf coffee with a shot of liquor, a dessert coffee so to speak. We’d barely taken our seat when Stella started. She held up her hand as she spoke. “Look,” she said, sighing. “I know that it’s entirely possible that I caught him on a bad night, like he said. But Cassandra, as your best friend, I have to be completely honest. It’s also entirely possible that Sebastian is a controlling asshole.” Her words hung in the air between us. “He’s not though,” I shook my head. “Not normally. He’s usually very…attentive and charismatic.” “Attentive? Or controlling. He orders for you? Every time you’re out? Really Cass? And I swear, he had his hand on you the ENTIRE night. Like you were some sort of property.” I didn’t like where this conversation was going. “You don’t know him,” I told her.

  • Divorce and Regret, His Ex-wife is a Billionaire   Chapter 482: Sebastian

Cassandra’s POV Sebastian introduced himself with a smile and pulled out both of our chairs. He started off as his usual self, but somewhere about halfway through dinner, his demeanor changed. Stella and I chatted happily, telling him old college stories and stories about our travels. But as we chatted, he seemed to become more and more brooding. Stella asked him direct questions, with only answered with a curt yes or no. And he made no effort in joining in the conversation. Instead, he seemed almost haughty, or bored. He had already ordered us appetizers, so when it came time to order the main course, Stella stared at the menu, a confused look on her face. “It’s all in French,” she said. “I don’t know what any of this is.” “Sebastian can order for all of us,” I smiled brightly. “Um, okay, I guess. But what if he orders something I don’t like?” “Good point. Here, let me see the menu. We can share

  • Divorce and Regret, His Ex-wife is a Billionaire   Chapter 481: Stella’s in Paris

Cassandra’s POV Stella loved the designs, as I knew she would. She was very impressed by the entire store. She met some of the staff before I told them to take off early for the weekend. “This is…this is amazing,” she said, fingering the soft lace of one of my designs. “It’s more than I imagined. It’s…perfect.” I nodded enthusiastically. I still couldn’t believe Stella was actually standing right in front of me. And she looked great. The pink was back in her cheeks and she’d put on some weight, so she didn’t look so frail. She was waiting for her breast reconstruction surgery, and in the meantime, she was wearing nice, thick, padded bras. Her hair was still glowing back so she was still wearing wigs. But her eyes sparkled. It was an entirely different person than the one I’d left back home a few months ago. She looked like her old self again, and nothing could have made me happier. After we’d had a good tour

  • Divorce and Regret, His Ex-wife is a Billionaire   Chapter 480: Socialite

Cassandra’s POV “You sent the car for her, right?” I asked Suzette, my latest intern. She nodded. “You bet. The car will be waiting for your friend with a big sign that says ‘Stella’,” she confirmed. A wave of excitement washed over me. Stella was coming! Right now, she was on a flight, edging her way closer and closer to Paris by the minute. I’d sent a car for her so I could finish up things at the store. I didn’t want to waste a moment of my visit with her. She was only staying for three days, and we had a jam packed itinerary. Museums, dinners, a stroll along the Champs Ellysse’s. A wine tasting. A burlesque show at the Moulin Rouge, which I knew Stella would love! And of course I was going to show her the store and the designs I’d picked out for the launch. I smiled to myself, imagining Stella and I sitting on my patio, sipping wine, catching up with the Eiffel Tower in the backdrop. God I’d m

  • Divorce and Regret, His Ex-wife is a Billionaire   Chapter 479: Quit Working

Cassandra’s POV The next morning, I woke up to a sun-filled room with Sebastian beside me. My mind instantly went to the night before. It had been passionate to say the least. Sebastian was opening up a side of me sexually that I’d never experienced before. Don’t get me wrong. Love-making with Dillon had been fantastic too, just in a different way. Dillon was tender and sweet. Sebastian was edgy and raw. He was demanding and took charge, which was something I wasn’t used to. I sat up and Sebastian rolled over, a languid smile on his face. “Come here,” he said, reaching for me. I let him hold me, our naked bodies pressed together. He began kissing my neck and I giggled. “We have to get back to the city,” I said, trying to pry myself away from him. “What’s the rush?” he said, his voice low and husky. “I have my launch coming up and my to-do list is a mile long,” I said, rolling away from him
