Chapter 52: The Caller

Summer’s Point of View

As my days at the hospital came to a close, I realized I would be discharged in just two days. It was a relief to know that I could finally go home and work on my marriage with Steven, as we had agreed in our contract. While I hadn’t mentioned it to him, I could tell that he was making an effort. He would bring me food for dinner without being asked, and it made me feel relieved. However, today I asked him to stop because I had grown tired of it. In fact, I had been consuming a lot of junk food and snacks lately, which had left me feeling full and satisfied.

Unaware, my eyes gradually shut as I drift off to sleep. Suddenly, I awaken, feeling chilly, noticed that the entire room was pitch black, and the only sound was the hum of the air conditioner. Nonetheless, I saw a faint glimmer of light emanating from the corner.
