Chapter 2

The show was being broadcast live.

Because of last night's trending topic, the livestream had already reached more than ten million viewers the moment it started.

Sure enough, the host's first question was about last night's trending topic. "Lily, you posted on X last night telling the dog run slower. What was that about?"

Lily blushed.

She covered her mouth and giggled. "My boy always runs really fast when she sees me. I was afraid she'd fall."

The host gave her a knowing smile and teased her on purpose. "But why does the dog in your post look so much like the dog Mr. Fisher posted? So..."

Lily immediately covered her face, too shy to look at the camera. "Um... It's still too soon to talk about that..."

[IYKYK. Lily basically confirmed it yesterday. Why is the host still asking? Now she's all embarrassed.]

[I liked Lily when I was 18 too, but I never expected her to fall for someone else that year. How unfair! I actually lost to someone.]

[Lol. Do you really think you could beat Mr. Fisher?]

The host gave Lily another teasing smile before moving on to the next segment. "We have a segment where you call the person at the top of your contacts and invite them to come here and cheer you on. Why don't you let us hear a certain someone's voice? Maybe we'll even get to hear the dog too."

Lily hesitated. "He's overseas right now, so there might be a time difference. But I can try calling him."

The camera immediately focused on her phone.

The first contact at the top of her list was saved as "Hugo."

The livestream chat exploded again.

The call was answered quickly.

A man's deep voice came through the phone. "Hello."

Lily immediately called his name in a sweet voice. "Hugo, are you busy?"

The viewers started spamming the comments again.

[So sweet! Mr. Fisher has such an amazing voice!]

[I've seen his pictures. He's so handsome and rich, and even his voice is amazing. Lily is so lucky!]

Lily glanced at the comments and became even more embarrassed.

Her voice grew softer. "Hugo, are you still overseas? I'm on a TV show right now. Can you come over?"

Hugo's assistant, Alan Sutton, spoke, "Ms. Southall, Mr. Fisher is in a meeting, so he can't come on the show."

Lily froze.

Then she gave an awkward smile. "Oh, it's Mr. Sutton. So when are you coming back?"

Before she could hear Alan's answer, she heard an airport boarding announcement through the phone.

Lily asked, "So you're coming back to the States soon?"

"Yes."

Lily smiled happily. "Okay. Be careful, then. See you later."

After hanging up, Lily helplessly shrugged and turned to the host. "I'm sorry. He's really busy."

The host gave her another knowing smile. "So when did Mr. Fisher leave the country? Is it the middle of the night where he is right now? Is he flying back overnight because something urgent came up?"

By then, Lily was so embarrassed that she covered her face. "I really don't know. He must have something more important to deal with. I did tell him I would be on the show today, but he probably won't make it in time."

[What? Did I hear that right? Is Mr. Fisher going to surprise Queen Lily?]

[I'm already imagining Mr. Fisher rushing back overnight after finishing his work just to support the woman he loves.]

[Oh! I love stories like this so much.]

I stared at the comments and rolled my eyes.

Um...

Was this the same Hugo who sent me "Signs of Emotional Withdrawal in Children from Single-Parent Families" last night?

Surely this wasn't the same Hugo who randomly cried in front of me and asked whether I loved him more or Sunny more.
