Dexter looked at Narsha from head to toe with a judgmental gaze. His eyebrows were raised unevenly, and his lips were pursed tightly.

“What are you looking at?” he asked softly, but sarcastically.

Narsha bit the inside of her mouth, swallowing her saliva and frustration, which almost burst out in a curse.

'Ha! How ridiculous. Who would want to look at him anyway?!' Narsha screamed inside her head.

She had eyes, so naturally they were drawn to him, whether she wanted them to or not, because he was a giant. Given the distance between them, it was almost impossible not to see him!

Besides, she didn't come to him; he came to her, knowing that she was with Mira. So, she should have been the one to ask the question!

Narsha sighed deeply, refraining from glaring at him. She had learned enough from experience that Dexter had a twisted mind. Feeding his ego was the only way to get rid of him.

She lowered her gaze and said, “I apologize, Sir. I didn’t mean to make you uncomfortable with my gaze

“Did you just... ‘ew’ me?”Narsha sipped dry air through her gritted teeth. Her expression was a mixture of disgust and guilt. “Yeah, my bad. I was too honest, wasn't I? But how could I not?”Injecting pheromones into another wolf's body to cover up their original scent meant they had to do something intimate. The simplest way was to bite the back of the neck, injecting the pheromones through the fangs into the bite wound. That way, if they followed that scenario, Narsha's scent would be covered by Dexter's.But that was the problem. An Alpha bite was a sign of ownership. It wasn't just about hiding her real scent, but also about submitting herself to Dexter. That thing is usually only done by a mated pair, or at least, a couple. Narsha couldn't possibly do that with Dexter. Just imagining it made her stomach churn.Narsha shook her head, still pushing Dexter away from her waist. “No. We're not going to do that."“But it's a strategy.”“Who are you trying to fool?” Narsha narrowed her

“Ah, right.” Dexter came back to his senses. Looking into Narsha's eyes suddenly felt heavy, as if something was stuck in his chest, almost making him unable to breathe. He cleared his throat, composed himself, then spoke. “This is about Cherish. She—”“Stop.” Narsha cut him.Her gaze was sharp, a boldness that seemed foolish considering her opponent was an Alpha. And yet, she didn't soften her gaze even a little. “With all due respect, Alpha, don't talk about my daughter so casually as if you know her well.”It was a clear warning. There was a real threat in every word that came out of her mouth. He took a deep breath through the narrow slit of his mouth, then replied.“You won't listen first?”“She is my daughter. I will listen to anything from her, not from you.” Narsha hissed, her voice as cold as ice, matching her current gaze. She continued. “I feel very uncomfortable with the attitude you have shown towards my daughters over the past few days.”Dexter raised his eyebrows. “My a

  • Don't Get Caught By The Alphas   30. When The Ship Sailed

Narsha gazed at the island that had been her and her daughters' most comfortable home for the past year, growing smaller as the sound of ship horns echoed in the air. The coconut trees, which usually stood like giants, now appeared no larger than toothpicks. The sound of the waves accompanying her departure seemed calm, as if mocking her turbulent heart. She and her daughters, who had arrived on the island with only two backpacks, were now leaving with two large suitcases. When it came to shameless people, she was one of them. The moment she stepped onto the ship, she knew there was no turning back.Although Bertha had told her to return to the island if life didn't treat her well, she didn't have the nerve to do so. Since Ethan's men's arrival and then Dexter's, she had almost put everyone on the island in danger. She couldn't do that to the place that had embraced her so warmly, could she?Dexter stood at the bow, occasionally glancing at Narsha and her daughters, who continued to s

  • Don't Get Caught By The Alphas   29. Storm's Gone, Chaos Stays

Narsha drew a faint smile, watching the sky return its blue hue from behind the gray clouds. In the distance, near the coastline where rows of boats were neatly anchored, no longer rocked by large waves, she watched people begin their celebrations. Those people were probably fishermen, longing to return to the sea with their boats to make a living. The storm had trapped them all on the small island for days—Dexter and his warriors, the hotel guests, and the islanders—with no way to communicate with the outside world.Food supplies were running low, and there were many mouths to feed. Not to mention the uncertain electricity supply, which could be cut off at any moment if the storm disrupted the cables.Their prayers were finally answered after almost two weeks. However, with the weather gradually clearing up, a heavy realization dawned on her. Dexter had come for her. He had made his intentions very clear from the beginning, which continued to weigh heavily on her, even though he had

Just mentioning the words “fated mate” was enough to trigger a new wave of irritation in Dexter after so long. He radiated his raw Alpha aura, shaking the air in the room.“Hey, how many times do I have to say it? There's no such thing as a fated mate.” Dexter spat out the words as if they were poison.“It's just a fairy tale, a weakness woven into our legends to make us complacent, weak, and dependent.”He was an Alpha with pure, supreme Alpha blood. He didn't depend on anyone, on anything, let alone a fated mate to complete him.“Everything I have and will ever have is thanks to my strength, my will, not some mystical, fragile bond with a woman. I'm a fucking Alpha, damn it.”“But,” Enrique pressed on, knowing full well he was risking his life. "The signs are clear. Do you think it makes more sense to accuse Miss Narsha of being a witch than your fated mate?“”Signs, my ass.“ Dexter scoffed. ”There are no signs, Enrique. And even if, by some strange joke of the universe, such a thin

Enrique hesitated, but asked anyway. “If I may ask, who do you want to make obsessed with you, Alpha?”Dexter glanced at Enrique with a disappointed look. His eyes seemed to scream, How could you not know?Enrique caught the sharp message and answered his question, “Could it be Miss Narsha?”“Yeah. Who else?” Dexter rolled his eyes, gesturing for Enrique to sit before him.Enrique sat down with an uncertain look on his face. The Alpha Dexter he had served so far was a man with unshakable confidence, who always believed he didn't need to bend to others to get what he wanted. Besides, he was a man who thought that everyone would naturally be obsessed with him. So, why did he suddenly want to make Narsha obsessed with him?Was he finally admitting that not everyone, especially not all women, was crazy about him?Enrique almost shed a tear of emotion. His Alpha had grown up, he thought. With a serious expression, Dexter asked, “How can I make her obsessed with me? I need her to beg for my
