"Okay." I nodded obediently when I heard what Lucas said.

It was professional.

Lucas looked at me meaningfully. He paused for seconds before saying, "Cynthia, as a secretary, you have done a good job."

As he spoke, his eyes were fixed on my chest, and my face immediately blushed.

I looked around. Fortunately, there was no one else.

"Cynthia?"

I put down the knife and fork. Hearing the familiar voice behind me, I wanted to escape right away.

If not for Derek's arrival, I would have forgotten that the restaurant was close to his company and that he often came for lunch.

Derek kept staring at me. His eyes were so fierce, as if trying to see through me.

He looked at Lucas next to me and seemed to realize something.

"No wonder you wanted to divorce me. It turns out that you also cheated on me."

The word "also" sounded repulsive to me. It was as if he and I were the same kind of people.
