•Chapter Four - The Dream

I walked to my class but all I could think about was Zeke. I have never, ever been this attracted to a guy before. I frowned as I thought about the involuntary pull I felt in my body. I have never lost control of my body like that before. It felt so weird and new... It felt exciting and terrifying at the same time. Ashlyn was as confused as I.

I entered the classroom and walked to my seat. I plopped on it and held my head in my hands. A warlock entered, the sounds of the heavy chains bound around his feet resonated into the classroom. I looked up and he immediately bowed his head when his gaze fell on me. A sign of respect for the future Luna.

Someone tapped on my shoulder and I turned to look back. It was the new guy, who was with Zeke earlier. What was his name? I frowned as I tried to remember it.

"Do you have a pen?" He asked

"Um... Yeah," I sighed and handed him an extra pen.

"The name is Aiden, by the way" he smiled

"Oh," I smiled uneasily.

I turned back and shifted my attention towards the warlock who was busy teaching all the students about the telepathy spell.

"He's staring at you," Iris said from beside me.

I furrowed my eyebrows. "Who?"

"The new guy... He's been staring at you this whole time"

I pulled in my lower lip and turned to look at him. I sharply inhaled as our eyes met. He didn't even look away or tried to be subtle about it, he directly stared back at me. A slight smile tugged at the corner of his lips, and I couldn't help the smile that spread across my face. I diverted my gaze back at what the warlock was teaching. My cheeks heated up, shit, was I blushing?

The bell rang and everyone got to their feet to pick their belongings up. I packed my bag and walked out of the class. I felt footsteps behind me and the air smelled familiar, my whole body shivered by that strong pull again, without turning I knew who it was. I looked over my shoulder to see Ezekiel.

I rolled my eyes and turned, he stopped in his tracks. I crossed my arms over my chest and raised an eyebrow.

Okay, he did come off kind of like a stalker but he was seriously hot. His chiseled jaw and the sharpness in his deep blue eyes took my breath away again. His shirt stretched across his broad chest. My body and my wolf both reacted to him in a mysterious way. His aura buzzed with authority and power. It was surprising that a simple wolf like him exuded power like an alpha. His penetrating stare made my blood boil, it made Ashlyn growl in excitement.

I controlled my lust-filled thought about him and put on a poker face to not let him know that he affected me. "Okay, what?" I asked

He looked at me, his eyes questioning. "What, what?"

I suppressed a smirk. "You were staring at me the whole time and now you are following me. What do you want?"

I was a confident girl, I wasn't one of those meek girls who would shy away when they get even a little attention from boys. I was used to attention, I have been in the spotlight my whole life. From the day, I was born I had the whole pack's attention and because of the curse over our family, it made us the center of attention time and time again.

He titled his head to the side in a curious manner. "Why would you think I want something from you?"

"Isn't it clear?"

"No, it isn't"

I scoffed. "I'm betrothed to someone"

A crinkle appeared between his brows. "What does that mean? Betrothed? Aren't you waiting for your mate?" he looked genuinely concerned.

I couldn't tell the new guy that my whole family is cursed and we aren't allowed to fall in love. That when we will find our mate we are expected to reject them because consummating our mate bond will wreak havoc upon all the kingdom and our pack will be destroyed.

Wow, that was a mouthful.

He might think I'm some kind of a psycho. I didn't want to freak him out and for some unknown reason, I found myself really attracted to him. Which is not good! Not good at all! Alpha was paying great attention to my every move. He knew I'd find my mate soon and he will be glad to rip my mate's head off right in front of me. I shivered by that thought. I blew out a breath and faced him again.

"I'm in love with someone, so, the mate bond doesn't matter"

He smiled and then scoffed. "Of course, it does, you should---"

A ringing sound cut him off. He pulled out a cellphone from his pocket, my eyes widened and my mouth hung open. We were not allowed to use cellphones, laptops, or anything that will connect us to the real world, we were royals, using a cellphone would be beneath us. Everyone else in the pack was allowed but not Blaze and me. We had never even touched a cellphone. The werewolves in school weren't allowed to use a cellphone and no one really dared to use it in our presence.

"Is that a cellphone?" I asked, genuinely intrigued.

He glanced at me and then his gaze went back to his cellphone. "Yeah, don't you have one?"

I shook my head. "Um, no, we aren't allowed. We are royals" I wasn't a royal by blood but I will be once Blaze and I will get married.

"And?"

"And?"

"You are a royal, so?"

I looked at him with disbelief. "So, this is beneath us. The human-made things are beneath us"

"You came to school in a car?"

I don't know what he was getting at with that. "Yes..."

"That's a human-made---"

"No, our cars are designed by the warlocks and witches"

He laughed, he actually laughed at me, not a little smile but full-blown laughter. "You are weird," he said to me and winked. "I'll see you later, Serena" he walked around me and continue on his path while I just stood there staring at his retreating back.

What the hell just happened? Did he just make fun of me? No ever had the guts to make fun of Serena Black. If it was anyone else I would have ordered a punishment for them but I just stood there dumbstruck.

*You are weird*

I'm not weird, he's weird with his cellphone and his stupid scent, and that weird pull that surrounds him. He's a weirdo.

I saw Blaze walking in my direction, his eyes fell on me, and then he looked at the ground and continued walking. I frowned, is he still worked up because of that incident with Jennifer this morning.

He walked past me and I followed him. "Blaze?" I called him. He ignored me and continued walking. "BLAZE?!"

"WHAT?!"

"What is wrong with you?" I asked

"Nothing"

I jogged past him and came to his front, stopping him in his tracks. "Is it about Jennifer?"

He groaned out loud. "No, it's not about Jennifer, it's about you. It's about my future wife. I don't like this side of you and you know that"

"This is who I am and I'm sorry if you have a problem with that but I'm not going to change myself for you. Too bad you're stuck with a bitch!"

It hurt, I couldn't help the way I am. He was trying to turn me into something I'm not. I'm not a very empathetic person, I don't know how to play nice. The only person who ever got to see my softer side was him only because I cared for him. I don't even care about my father or my dead mother, they could rot in hell for all that I care.

"Serena..." He blew out a breath. "I just don't want you to turn into our parents"

I stepped closer to him and held his hand. "I won't, I have you, don't I?"

He smiled and pulled me in a hug. "Always.." He whispered in my hair.

From over Blaze's shoulder, I saw Ezekiel again. He leaned against his locker and gave me a devilish smile. I swallowed uneasily and pulled back from Blaze.

"Come on, let's go to class"

Our next class was together, we held hands and made our way to the classroom. I looked over my shoulder to see Ezekiel again and found no one there. He had left too.

There was something about him. Something that made me all silly inside. What if he's my mate? I wasn't eighteen yet and he was nineteen, I doubt that he had found his mate. Both werewolves should be over the age of eighteen, to find their mate. If one of us is older then the other has to wait for their mate to also be of age before they can find each other.

I hope that it's not him. Alpha will kill whoever it is and I don't know why but I don't want anything bad to happen to him. It was alarming and shocking for me. It was the first time, I had cared about anyone else other than Blaze and me.

My head felt incredibly heavy, the chirping of birds was all around me and my face felt wet. I forced open my droopy eyes and peeked at the space beside me.

Grass...

I wasn't in my room?

I shot up and cursed as my head began to spin. I wasn't in my room, I wasn't even in my house. I was laying on the grass, the clear blue sky was above me.

I slowly got up on my feet and then noticed my blood-red flowy dress. I don't remember putting it on. I don't remember anything at all. All I remember is going to sleep in my bed last night.

I walked around the vast land, I was in the middle of nowhere with nothing but beautiful trees in sight. I was barefoot and the grass felt cold under my feet. I continued walking until I saw someone.

A woman.

She was sitting over a giant boulder wearing a white dress, her dark hair softly blew with the wind. She was wearing a white flowy dress much like mine and was humming a beautiful tone. She had a white bunny asleep in her lap, she kept caressing it softly. I slowly walked closer to her.

"Hello?" I voiced, swallowing the lump in my throat.

She craned her neck in my direction and for a second I forgot to breathe. She was beautiful, her skin glowed with soft white light, she seemed like an angel. I instinctively took a step back.

"Hello" she passed me a gentle smile.

"What is this place?" I asked

"I have waited a long time for this, Serena"

The land shifted below my feet. She knew my name. How did she know my name? I took another step back, gripping my dress from the sides. I wasn't afraid of her, I trained myself as a warrior wolf. I could take her down in a fight in a second. I was preparing myself for a fight if anything goes wrong.

"How do you know my name?" My voice came out harsher than I intended it to be.

"Come, sit with me" she patted the space beside her on the boulder.

"No, I'd rather stand"

She smiled. "You can trust me, Serena"

"With all due respect lady, I don't know you and I sure as hell won't trust you"

She pulled her lips in disappointedly and looked down at the bunny in her lap. "You will be of age soon"

I shrugged. "Yes..." but then my eyes went wide, she knew my name and now she knew about my age too? "How do you know all that?!" I asked as my aggression took the best of me.

Her soft gaze landed back on me, "Serena, I know everything about you."

"Who the hell are you?"

She smiled again and gazed at the great abyss before her. "I can't answer that"

"Why not?"

"I just can't..." She again diverted her attention to me. "You have turned out to be a beautiful woman, Serena"

"What do you want from me?! Why am I here? How the hell do I get out of here?"

"Do you believe that you were sent to this earth to fulfill a great purpose?"

Her question caught me off-guard. "I have no idea what you're talking about!"

"Or are you going to settle for less?"

I frowned. "Settle for less? What?"

"I had a vision about your future, I came here to warn you"

She was getting creepier with each passing second, I needed to get out of here. "Warn me about what?"

"Do not do something you will regret, make smart choices, Serena. Everything you do to other people will find its way back to you"

"What are you talking about?!"

"Serena, I can not change your future, it will be harsh and painful but you have to be stronger... for him"

My lips parted, a sudden immersing feeling settled in my chest. "Who's him?"

She smiled at me and then turned her gaze back towards the white bunny resting in her lap. My vision suddenly got distorted, my head started to spin. I staggered on my feet and then everything went to black.

I jolted up from my bed, sweat dripped on my back, the hair rose on every part of my body.

It was a dream, it was just a stupid dream. It meant nothing.

Nothing...
