REBEKKA Activity was bustling in the clinic as I held my mop close to my chest and weaved through the crowd to make my way over to the bedside of one of the pack warriors who had just vomited blood on the tiled floor. I put the mop down and cleaned up the mess and was about rinsing it free when I heard my name. “Rebekka! Get over here!” Doctor Purcell yelled as he struggled to hold down a combative patient. I dropped the mop and the bucket and ran over to him, “Yes, Master!” “Hold him down, I need to pull out all these shards!” He commanded. The man on the table eyed me wickedly as I tried to hold his hands down by his side, with a little shake he sent me stumbling backwards and I fell to the floor. I wasn’t even strong enough to hold down an injured pack warrior. “Get out of the way, mutt!” a vicious voice called out to me. I stiffened and looked up, shifting out of the way quickly. The man that spoke to me, along with two other men, were covered in blood and were pushing a gurney hurriedly into the pack clinic. On the bed was the most handsome man I had ever seen! He was shirtless and covered in blood but even that did not dampen how hot he looked. I felt a tightness in my chest as I gawked at him as I got to my feet, Who the hell was that? The initial excitement was replaced by a wave of fear, when I saw his injuries. Why was he bleeding so much? I didn’t think I had seen so much blood in my life. I felt sick. I just stood there as he was wheeled in and Doctor Purcell left the patient he was treating to give all his attention to the hot injured man that was just brought in. I shook off the fear and confusion, I was in a clinic and one day I was hoping I might be able to work here as a doctor, I should not be scared of the sight of such blood or injury. I went about my normal duties of cleaning up after patients and changing soiled sheets. Later that evening, as I was returning from a supply run, I saw a line forming up outside the clinic. What was this about? “Excuse me miss, please why are you lining up here?” I asked the last lady on the line. She eyed me head to toe and then smirked, “Are you sure that you are in this pack at all?” She looked at my uniform, “How can you work in the clinic and have no idea what is going on?” I was caught off guard by her aggression, “What is going on?” I asked innocently. She rolled her eyes at me, “If you are so curious, go to the town square!” she replied. I left her side and made my way over to the town square, today had just been weird. Firstly, we got a huge influx of pack warriors, it looked like they had been in some kind of fight or battle, with whom I had no idea. We were not through dealing with that and now there was a line forming up outside the clinic, was some rare disease going around? The voice of the alpha’s messenger boomed loudly and interrupted my thoughts, “Loyal members of the Half Moon Pack, today, your heir, the son of the great alpha Michael needs your help. He has been poisoned with wolfsbane by devious witches and is near death!” I gasped in shock, the alpha’s son was dying? How? Where? Something pinged in my brain and I remembered the young sexy man that was rushed in by those three menacing men. Could that be the alpha’s son? My heart began to thump in my chest. “He has a rare blood type and as such we need to find a donor for him or else he will die. Save your heir’s life… go to the clinic now and get tested, there awaits a huge reward for whoever shall save his life!” Before I could finish processing what I had heard, I was already running back to the clinic to join the line. How could I be aspiring to be a doctor like Master Purcell in the future and yet allow the alpha’s son to die under my nose? I couldn’t let that happen, I doubted that a low born like me would amount to any good but I was determined to do my best to save his life. I joined the queue and waited impatiently for my turn. Kaitlin glared at me when it was her turn to draw my blood, “What the hell do you think you are doing here?” “Please test me,” I said and bowed curtly. “What good could your blood be to anyone?” she added. “Next!” she shouted, looking past me. “Please test me, Kaitlin, please!” I refused to bulge. “Get away mutt, you are holding up the line!” the man directly behind me shouted. I winced but didn’t bulge, “Please Kaitlin,” I pleaded. Doctor Purcell came over with an annoyed look on his face, “What’s the matter here?” “Dad, Rebekka joined the queue!” Kaitlin ratted off. Doctor Purcell eyed me then looked at his daughter, “Just test her, this is urgent.” “But…” she began to protest. “Just do it and be done with it,” he cut her off. “Give me your hand!” She said in annoyance. Kaitlin jabbed me with the needle and drew my blood, I winced in pain, looked like she did it intentionally to hurt me. She put a drop of it on the yellow Stardust leaf and then gasped when it turned deep red. “Dad!” she yelled. I looked from the leaf to her face, “Please, what is going on?” Doctor Purcell ran over, as soon as he saw the red leaf his eyes widened and he looked at me, “You are a match!” Before I could show my surprise, two guards moved forward and grabbed me and led me into the clinic to a room and a bed, adjacent to me was the alpha’s son, Lord Stephan. Everything happened so fast. One minute I am getting tested and the next I am being laid down and prepped. The last thing I remembered before passing out was the drip being hurriedly fixed into my left hand and then everything faded into blackness.173 - BANISHEDDAMON POVI gritted my teeth as the alpha’s claws cut into my shoulder wound again and then the expected pain exploded in my tendon as he slashed at my ankle. My eyes flashed with anger as I stared at him.It was one thing for Stephan to do this to me, but for someone inferior to keep me trapped here in my own cabin? It was unacceptable. He was panting heavily as he stared at me, “If it was up to me, you would be dead, blue-eyed freak!”I sneered at him, I was not going to give him the satisfaction of crying out in pain or writhing like a worm. How did I end up here?I had everything, I had taken out the only obstacle that stood in my way, alpha Michael, I had outwitted Stephan, I had even stolen Rebekka from him, everything was mine, my happily ever after was right in front of me.But then he came out of nowhere and stole it from me… a low growl escaped my throat. I had to beg Stephan of all people for him to spare my life…My body shuddered with anger and shame.“What
172 – NEW RULERSTEPHAN POV“Lord, I hope you realize what you have done,” Roh said, coming up behind me.Roh was right, it was too dangerous to leave Damon out like that, anything could happen. I handed the Silver Dagger to Roh, “Go after him, he has a cabin in the woods, keep him there until after the coronation and then make sure that he leaves as he said…” I hesitated, “If he refuses, kill him!”Roh stared at me, his gaze intense and then he nodded wordlessly and melted into the darkness, going after Damon. I stood there in the hall all alone, it was done… I looked at the empty throne, it was all mine now.****“When did you get back?” Claude's voice fizzled into my ear.I rolled in bed, yawned and stared at him.I winced and shielded my eyes from the sun rays that were pouring in, “What time is it?” I asked.Claude averted my gaze, “Almost time for the coronation,” he said dejectedly.“What?” I jumped out of bed, wide eyed.Claude was shocked as he stared at me, “What?”“I am go
171 - USURPERSTEPHAN POV“What are you waiting for? End him!” Roh strained. My claws stopped shy of Damon’s pulsing throat. He opened his eyes to stare at me, his pupils were pinpoint and shaking, “Please, brother!” I bared my teeth, his words both cut under my skin and at the same time stilled me.“C’mon, I can’t hold him any longer!” Veins were bulging across his temple and his eyes were blood shot from the strain of holding Damon back.Any second now, his hold would break, I had to make a decision, kill Damon or risk him killing me once he was free.“Ahhh!” I yelled and instead of his throat, I cut deeply into his right shoulder and then the left, severing it so deeply that I heard the muscles tear from the strain of the stretch that Roh was putting on it.“Uhhhh!” Damon bared his teeth as his body shook from the pain of his injury.Roh let Damon go and he stumbled forward, both hands failing helplessly by his side.I closed the distance immediately and with all my might, I stepp
170 – RED, BLUE, YELLOWDAMON POVWe were taught to tell the strength of an alpha from the color of their eyes, the deeper the red, the more powerful they were. Those with deep red eyes were practically walking calamities, just like alpha Michael was.Stephan’s was not as deep as his father’s but he still had time to grow, the man beside him was an alpha, I could tell from the deep yellow eyes and his scent. And he was not a weak alpha either, I squinted and then let go of Rebekka, “Go on love, you would not want to see this,” a grin was plastered on my face.“But–”“Rebekka!” Stephan yelled. “Get out, now!”Her body shuddered at the sound of his voice and she looked at me with panic in her eyes. She didn’t seem to know exactly what was going on but she could tell that it was not good at all.I nodded at her and kept the grin on my face, “Don’t miss me too much,” I winked.A growl escaped Stephan’s throat and he took a step forward.Rebekka tiptoed away from the hall, as she walked pa
