Western Frontier Region. The Barnabas Kingdom.
The makeshift barracks made of tarpaulin tents were full of people passing by. People could see several people dressed in medical clothes wearing masks walking back and forth bringing medical equipment. Some of the injured patients with shredded flesh groaned in pain. Spilled blood seemed to soak the floor. A pungent fishy smell from the patient's rotting wounds wafted through the barracks. The condition of the western frontier regieon looked miserable and terrible. Despair was everywhere.
Many commoners and border guards were seriously injured. The corpses were piled together and burned before decomposing even more. They had to do that to prevent any disease that might infect healthy people. The inhabitants of the western territory border did not have time to bury those who were dead. Every day they faced terrifying war situations. Their focus was only one, which was survival.
Edmund walked fast on his horse. He br
Zach dashed out of the castle, followed by his guests from the duchy of Brighton. He rode his horse at high speed towards the fortress. He saw for himself knights and commoners running in fear in the opposite direction Zach was aiming for.The sky was dark, and black clouds rolled over the frontier fortress. From within the black cloud appeared gigantic winged demon-beasts. The demon-beasts have long, dirty claws, leathery wings, and rows of razor-sharp teeth. When wounded, they bleed black acid. The archers and snipers had tried to fire at the winged demon-beasts, but their skin was too thick for the arrowheads to penetrate.Zach watched wide-eyed with great fear as the army of archers broke apart and was slaughtered helplessly. The horse on which Zach was riding lifted his feet in the air while neighing in terror. The horse threw Zach down to the ground, then ran helter-skelter away from the slaughter arena, leaving Zach there alone.Zach saw one by one the ar
Zach worked fast and efficiently. He immediately created several powerful long-range weapon designs with the head knights in the Barnabas kingdom to strengthen the defenses in the border area. They took the carcass of a winged demon-beast that was still good enough to study the thickness of the skin and any weapons that could injure the skin with a few experiments. The research team was formed with a mixture of the human, elf, and dwarf races to determine an effective weapon for fighting demon-beasts.So far, the factor of human defeat laid in the human weapon that was incapable of injuring the demon-beast skin. Let alone penetrating the demon beast's skin, the sword that the knights pierced immediately broke and melted because of the black, acidic blood. Benji discussed with Prince Zach and King Ruven Omanelis. So far, the elven arrows made by the Dwarves had penetrated the demon beast's skin, but that was not enough. It took purification magic power to kill the demon-beasts
King Edgar Barnabas looked at Edmund's face curiously. From a very long time ago, he was a reliable trader and liked to collect antiques. Sometimes he came to black-market auctions to hunt for rare items that were considered lost and destroyed in Magica. Since Edmund's appearance, he had felt that Duke Brighton's face was very familiar, even though he could say this was the first time they had met."Is there anything you want to say to me, Your Majesty?" asked Edmund, noticing as King Edgar Barnabas kept his eyes fixed on his face. He had tried to ignore it, but King Edgar's gaze was so deep and it made Edmund felt uncomfortable from being stared constantly by the king.“Uhm, I beg your pardon?” asked King Edgar Barnabas.“It seems that you have something in your mind, Your Majesty. Do you mind if I ask?” asked Edmund tried to rephrase his previous question.“You are so mysterious, Duke Brighton. This is the first time we met
Count Barney was huddled in a dungeon cell that was damp, dark, and foul-smelling. Lichens and mold were everywhere. His own body odor smelled bad, considering he hadn't showered in days. Dirt littered the corners of the prison, for Count Barney had paid no heed to cleanliness. His body, which was once fat and distended, at that looked thin, only bones wrapped in skin. Some of the prisoners who came from the magic tower that had been locked up with him had long been released. Only he remained in the dungeon in the Brighton Duchy. No one came to save him. He had made a terrible mistake daring to break into the Brighton area. Now, no one knew where he was. Maybe he would die to rot in this prison.Damn woman! All of Count Barney's bad luck started with a damn slave girl who ran away from his room that night. If the slave didn't escape, he might never end up in this pitiful dungeon. In a lonely prison without anyone accompanying him, it wasn't easy to keep his mind sane.
Astrid borrowed a maid outfit and disguised her appearance by wearing the ruby-eyed ring that Edmund gave her.“Dovah Incognito,” said Astrid."Dragon Incognito," said Astrid.Astrid looked at the unfamiliar middle-aged woman in her mirror reflection. Astrid took a deep breath and slipped out through the balcony of her bedroom window. She tried to stroll along the Queen Palace area. Several maids and footmen seemed to be at work and didn't recognize Astrid at all. They were busy with their own business. Astrid felt a little relieved.Astrid walked with her head down and tried to circle the Queen Palace area to find a way to escape. Almost in every corner of the palace stood patrol troops who guarded the security closely. There's no way to escape. She could climb the wall and jumped out as one of her way out. The thing was, she couldn't possibly make a fuss. Defeating one or two soldiers might not be too difficult, but if the royal arm
County Barney.Hundreds of demon-beasts chased after King Ruven Omanelis and Edmund, who flew evasively in the air. They came from all over. The winged demon beasts with sharp claws and sharp teeth like rows of saw blades chased after them savagely. Meanwhile, the burly and horned Demon-beasts chased from the mainland.“Blue Yol Bullet,” Edmund shouted.Blue fire Bullet.A volley of blue fireballs shot out the winged Demon beasts chasing Edmund and King Ruven Omanelis in the air. Edmund's blue fireball hit the hollow-winged demon beast's chest. One by one, their bodies fell to the ground and burned to ashes. However, the number of demon-beasts that arrived still didn't decrease; instead, they grew. As a result, Edmund had used up too much energy. If this battle continued, Edmund might run out of energy and be unable to escape.King Ruven Omanelis tried his best to provide a strong magic shield to defend. However, King Ruven would
“Hold on! Put down your weapons! We've come with help," said Edmund in a calm tone, but his eyes were wary."Say your name!" commanded one of the centaurs without lowering his spear.“My name is Edmund Brighton, Son of Jergintarth. I came to see Kyron and Keefe. I believe that my subordinate, Al is also with you," replied Edmund calmly."Call Kyron. We need to find out if this person is real or fake,” said one of the largest black-haired centaurs. It seemed that he was the leader of the Midnight Forest's border guards. The brown-haired and slightly slender Centarus nodded and moved through the magic shield. Meanwhile, the white tigers surrounding them did not let down their guard."How did you get here?" asked the black-haired centaur.Edmund brandished the wooden stick in his hand.“I got a stick made from the branches of a tree that grows in this Midnight Forest from Keefe. This wand shows the way here," said
When Edmund arrived at the Brighton Duchy with Al, some guests was already waiting for him in the living room. He handed over the magical briefcase he had brought to Al. He needed Al with Berk to take care of the briefcase. Edmund needed Al to lead Brighton’s army to rescue survivors in various kingdoms on the border."Leave it to me. I will take good care of the Brighton Duchy. Meet the guests. Don't worry," Al said deftly."Thank you, Al."Edmund hurried into the living room. There was a group of people waiting for him. Edmund recognized two guests who had come to see him. The aura they emitted from within their bodies was full of overflowing magical energy. They came with an army of elves' knights."Radcliff! Cassia! When did you guys arrive?” cried Edmund with a bright smile and beaming eyes."We've just arrived," said Radcliff, grinning widely. His appearance was smoldering. There was a tattoo of a fiery-red salamander on Radcliff'
