The Fight

The attack was expected, but faster than I was prepared for. I danced out of his way, spinning back, and flipping backwards, springing off my hands and landing on my feet a distance away from a wide-eyed Jackson staring at me.

“This is a fight, not a gymnastics competition.” Jackson growled, stalking forward to confront me once more.

“Are you scared Jackson?” I probed him, smirking as I bend into stance again.

“Of you? Never.” He lunged again, and I knew if I took the same route again, he’d see it coming, so instead I called on Sapphire’s strength and jumped up and over his head, twisting while in the air to land behind him, striking out to throw a punch into a kidney and the back of his head, then dancing away again before he could turn and deliver his own blows.
