Patrick’s POV

I was furious! I felt a rage running through my veins like I hadn't felt in a long time. I'd been made a fool of, and not just by this spoiled little girl, but by all my friends. What were they thinking, making a fool of me like this?

We entered my assistant's office, which was adjacent to mine, and she stopped at her desk, somewhat hesitant. I walked past her and opened the door to my office, turning back to face her.

"In my office!" I repeated, with rage seeping from my pores.

She walked past me with her head down and entered my office, stopping halfway to my desk. I closed the door behind me and turned the lock - no one was going to interfere with this.
