Melissa’s POV

I was humming in the office, almost like Maurice from the sales department who was always singing. Oh, but I was so happy, and I hadn't felt this happy in such a long time! My Fred surprised me yesterday. I was just a little sleepy because he was really inspired and barely let me sleep.

"Goodness, such joy!" Julia, Henry's secretary, teased me.

She walked into my office laughing, carrying an arrangement of red roses in a crystal vase, which she placed on my desk.

"Wow, how beautiful!" I looked at the arrangement and assumed Henry was preparing something for Sam.

"Gorgeous, isn't it?! Just arrived for you." Julia smiled, picked up the little envelope nestled among the flowers, and handed it to me.

"Are you sure they're for me?" I asked.

It was unusual to receive roses, they definitely weren't from Fred, as he always sent peonies. So who could they be from? I opened the card and could hardly believe what I read.
