Jared POV

"Let's go for a run, little mate."

Zina suddenly lifted her head and looked at me with wide eyes. "I'm sorry but what did you say?

I licked my lips and pulled her close to me, " Let's go for a run. I haven't seen your wolf before."

"That's because I have such a ugly wolf, I stopped shifting after I heard all the names I was called."

I felt myself burn with anger and annoyance, "Zina, you are not ugly, and I'm sure your wolf would be beautiful too."

She looked at me with innocent eyes and I felt my heartbreak for her, "why don't you shift for me, I will gladly watch you."

Zina looked down at her hands and I saw a tear trail down her cheek, "I… have forgotten how, I haven't shifted in seven years." She cried out and I gathered her in my arms.

I didn't know she was going through this kind of pain, I wish I could kill everyone who hurt her.

"Baby girl, let me teach you, it's really not hard. I promise."

"Alright teach me please…AH!!" She suddenly tensed on me. I sat up, putting her on my thighs.

"What's wrong?"

"I just felt a tinge of pain in my head."

"Let me in, baby."

"In?" She tilted her head in confusion.

"In your head. So I can feel what you feel." I explained

then feel the connection open.

As soon as the bond is opened, we both felt harsh pain in our heads, as if something's pushing against from the inside.

And I know what it is.

I wordlessly placed Zina on the bed then took some clothes out and put on some shorts before dressing her.

It's pretty much useless, but I didn't want anyone to see her naked. Then I picked her up and carried her outside to the back of the house, trying to calm her down through the mind link as I sensed her panic.

I rushed through the terrace in the back and I laid  my mate on the ground, then knelt beside her head and pushed her hair away from her face. I noticed her breaths shortening as she whimpered in pain.

"Shh, my love, don't fight it, just let her come out." I tried to calm her down, but she still stared at me fearfully.

"What is happening to me?" She asked, scared.

"You're going through a shift." I told her. "Why? I thought my wolf was too weak..." She whimpered.

"Shh, my love, it's okay. I'll take away as much of your pain as I can, so you won't feel much." I tried to soothe her, getting only a whimper in response.

She's terrified.

"I'm scared." She cried.

I can't take it anymore.

I shifted to my wolf, I knew I can't touch her in human form, but I sure as fuck can touch her as a wolf.

I laid down next to my mate, encircling her with my huge body. She immediately clutched onto my fur and hid her face in it, screaming out in pain as her bones broke and realigned.

I concentrated on taking the pain away, wanting to make her pain disappear.

After a few tortuous hours, my little mate finally shifts.

In front of me laid a beautiful red wolf, panting heavily from exertion. Her fur was crimson red and her eyes were a gorgeous shade of gray.

She was really small too, no bigger than a pup. Even lying down, I can easily cover her whole body with just my head.

"She's so cute!" Red exclaimed in my head.

I got up from the ground and my mate tried to follow, but stumbled a few times before she could finally stand up and I supported her with my head every time. She barely reached my knees.

"Let me take over, please let me take over." Red yelped in my head.

"Alright then, take over for a while but don't do anything harsh." I warned him.

"Yeah yeah"

Red POV (Jared wolf)

"Hello my little mate."

'Hello. I'm Coral You?'

'Red. And my human's Jared.' I bent down and nudged her with my head gently. She couldn't even reach my head while on hind legs, so i casually laid on my belly, wagging my tail in invitation to play.

Pearl yipped happily and skipped around me, occasionally nipping playfully on my fur and ears.

I grinned at her and pulled her under my head, trapping

her. I licked her body before rubbing my cheek against

hers.

"Take her on a run, it will help your bond." Jared

suggested.

Always the smart one.

"She'll get tired fast." He added befoe retreating to the back of my head.

I got up from the ground, Coral following suit, this time without stumbling, then we strolled into the woods behind the house.

After about half a mile, she fell to the ground, out of breath, just like Jared predicted, so I shifted into skin

and put on the jeans that was tied on a tree.

"You're gorgeous". I heard Coral's lustful voice as she

openly ogled me, lying on the ground, panting.

"So are you." I pet her head, running my fingers through her silky soft red fur. She leaned into my touch then licked my palm, nipping at my fingers, making me smile. "Adorable. Let's get you home now." I crouched to pick her up and she jumped into my arms, putting her front paws over my shoulder and nuzzling her head into the crook of my neck.

Then she bites.

I almost dropped my mate as her teeth sank into my

neck. But I don't. Instead I moaned from the pleasure.

She pulled away from my neck and licked away the

blood.

"Now you're mine."

"You sure know how to surprise me, little mate. I did not expect that."

''No matter. I want everyone to know you belong to me, but my human didn't even think about narking you. Had I been stronger, I would've mated you right here and now, but you'll have to wait until I'm stronger.''

I'm shocked, to say the least. I didn't expect Coral to be so bold, considering how shy Zina is.

"You're amazing. And so different from Zina. How are you so strong?"

"Months of practice."

I gently laid her down under a tree, making sure she was in the shade before unzipping my jeans and shifting into my fur again.

I curl up around her and she snuggles into my body.

We decided to take a short nap before we headed back

to the house. I kept Coral on my front legs and hid her with my head.

She was so tiny against my huge form that it scared me how easily she could get hurt, even unintentionally. Most of the wolves I know are bigger than average, not to mention the wolves from my family, which are enormous.

So even someone stepping on her or nudging her too strongly can hurt her real bad. Not that I would allow that to happen.

"Let's get you home, my little one. I can feel you're tired."

"I could use a shower". She tilted her head giving me a

suggestive look. I growled deep in my throat and picked  her up by the scruff of her neck before strutting

back home.

I carried her through the house, her small form hanging from my muzzle, yipping happily. We got some curious looks from my sister, but she doesn't dare to comment.

After everything I had witnessed from her, it's pay back time.

Once we reached our bedroom, I took my mate to the

bathroom.

She did mention a shower, but I had a different idea. I placed her in the bathtub, and after some struggle, she finally managed to shift back into skin, with me following right after.

I filled the tub with water and settled in front of her, pulling her to straddle my legs, and for the next few hours I used every method possible to bring her pleasure.

Our short nap replenished a lot of her energy and she matched my passion with equal fervor.

"Oh God! Red!" She screams as she reached her peak, tightening her arms around my neck, hiding

her face in the crook of it as she pants, exhausted.

"MINE! All mine!" I snarled into her shoulder, getting down from my high.

I nuzzled my face into her hair as she hugged my neck with her face in the crook of it, kissing my mark. It's a little unusual for a wolf to mark their mate while in wolf form, but I understand why she did that.

Zina didn't mark us while we had sex and the mate bond was way too strong to ignore.

I pulled back from her and made her look at me, "I will always be with you and take care of you. I will always keep you safe and I will always put you first."

I swore with all my heart.

POV: ZinaThe kitchen felt quieter than it had moments ago, though the silence was far from comforting. My gaze lingered on the closed door, the echo of Trina's heels against the floor replaying in my mind like a haunting melody. I should have felt victorious—watching her crumble under the weight of my words should've been satisfying. But as I stood there, the adrenaline ebbed, replaced by a hollow exhaustion that pressed on my chest.I sank into the nearest chair, rubbing my temples. The fight had drained me more than I cared to admit. From the corner of my eye, I caught the tea kettle on the stove. The sight of it brought a sliver of comfort, so I busied myself making tea. As the water boiled, the steam curling upward, my thoughts wandered to a time long before Trina and her perfectly curated chaos.---Xaden's laughter echoed through the kitchen, rich and unrestrained. I had been trying to teach him how to make pancakes, and his clumsy attempts had resulted in batter smeared across

POV: ZinaThe knock at the door wasn't surprising; I'd been expecting a delivery. Asher's new schoolbooks had been delayed for days, and I had spent the morning waiting to sign for them. But when I opened the door, my stomach clenched.Standing there, dressed as though she'd stepped out of a fashion magazine, was Trina. And she hasn't changed a bit.For a moment, neither of us spoke. Her sharp cheekbones and meticulously styled hair glistened in the sunlight. Her lips were painted a bright red, her eyes hidden behind oversized sunglasses that she slowly removed, revealing a piercing stare."Zina." Her voice was sugary but laced with badly hidden spite.I leaned against the doorframe, crossing my arms. "Well, well, well, if it isn't the woman who thought stealing my husband was a promotion. I see you have removed the devil's thorns on your head."Her painted lips twitched into a tight smile. "I see you haven't changed.""Neither have you bitch," I shot back. "What do you want from me?"

  • Echoes Of A Shattered Heart   The confrontation

POV: JaredIt was a quiet morning in the office, the kind where everything felt routine. The hum of my computer filled the room as I worked through an endless string of emails. I liked mornings like this—structured, predictable. But the peace shattered in an instant. The door to my office slammed open so hard it hit the wall. I looked up, startled, as Xaden stormed in like a man on fire. His face was twisted with fury, his eyes sharp and blazing."Jared!" he snapped, his voice loud enough to carry through the entire floor. My assistant, Sarah, appeared behind him, looking flustered and apologetic. "I tried to stop him, Mr. Jared, but he—""It's fine," I interrupted, holding up a hand. "Close the door, Sarah. I'll handle this."She hesitated for a moment, clearly unsure if she should leave me alone with him. I gave her a reassuring nod, and she finally backed out, shutting the door softly behind her.Xaden wasted no time. He strode over to my desk, his movements stiff with anger. He pl

A Mother's Dilemma Zina POV The morning sunlight filtered through the curtains, painting the kitchen with a soft glow. I had barely slept, my mind running circles around the storm Xaden had stirred up. His words from last night haunted me: the anger, the betrayal, and his unspoken promise to not back down.I placed two plates of scrambled eggs and toast on the table, the aroma filling the small kitchen. Asher shuffled in, rubbing his sleepy eyes and dragging his stuffed dinosaur behind him. His messy curls framed his face, and despite my inner turmoil, his presence brought a fragile sense of calm."Morning, Mom," he mumbled, climbing into his chair."Good morning, sweetheart," I replied, trying to sound cheerful. "Did you sleep well?""Uh-huh," he said, already diving into his breakfast. "I'm so hungry!"I chuckled softly, though the sound felt forced. Watching him eat reminded me of how much I had to lose. My appetite remained absent, but I sat across from him, sipping on a glass o

Zina's POVThe knock on the door was sharp and insistent, cutting through the quiet of the night. My chest tightened as I glanced at the clock. Midnight. No one came by this late, especially not unannounced. The heavy silence in the house suddenly felt suffocating.Hesitant, I moved toward the door, each step weighed down by an inexplicable sense of dread. When I opened it, my breath caught. Xaden stood there, his tall frame illuminated by the dim porch light. His face was a storm of fury, his eyes blazing with anger."What are you doing here?" I asked, gripping the door tightly to steady myself."You didn't think I'd find you, did you?" His voice was sharp, cutting through the air like a blade."I don't know what you're talking about," I said quickly, trying to shut the door, but he shoved it open and stepped inside."You don't get to shut me out, Zina," he growled, his voice rising. "Not this time."I glared at him, my heart pounding. "You can't just barge into my life like this. Yo

Zina POVThe water pours down relentlessly, the sound a soothing yet deafening roar around us. Each droplet feels like a whisper against my skin, but it does little to calm the storm raging within me. Jared's arms are wrapped securely around me, his chest rising and falling steadily as if he isn't as affected by this as I am. How could he be so calm when I feel like my world is on the verge of shattering?I press my forehead against his chest, trying to focus on his warmth. It's grounding, comforting even. I should feel safe here, and I do, but there's an undercurrent of fear—fear of what this moment means, fear of what I've just given him, fear of the unknown future."Zina," Jared's deep voice cuts through the quiet chaos in my head. He says my name softly, almost reverently, as if it's the most precious word he's ever spoken. "Look at me."I hesitate for a moment, reluctant to meet his gaze. When I finally tilt my head up, his dark eyes are waiting, filled with something I can't qui
