Chapter Thirty-five

Grace's POV

It had been months since my father had been seeking forgiveness, but I still hadn't managed to find it in my heart to forgive him. The fact that he knew my address and would show up unannounced both irritated and frightened me, especially since he had once mentioned Victor visiting him and inquiring about me.

He claimed he lied about not knowing where I was, but I still couldn't shake off the unease that Victor now had a connection to my father.

I had intended to find a new place to move to where this man wouldn't be able to find me, but I couldn't save enough money to relocate again, and George kept reassuring me that everything would turn out fine.

“I wouldn’t want him to know if I give birth,” I once told George, worried that Victor might eventually bribe him and he would expose my location.

“Grace, you just need to forgive this man because I see a broken man who needs his child’s forgiveness,” George replied, but I wasn’t ready to take him back as my father.
