By the time one of the Soldiers found Una she was beaten half to death and one of the gang men had brought a gun for Roger to shoot her. Roger stood above Una with his gun right at her face.
"Shoot me" Una screamed. The soldier who was currently watching threw a poisoned dart at the feet of the other man who fell with excruciating pain going through him.Roger looked around but couldn't detect the well-hidden soldier. Another soldier took it as an opportunity to pull Una from underneath Roger.Roger turned right in time and shot at Una who was getting supported. He got her in the shoulder bone of her back. She shivered in pain and dropped to the ground."Una" the soldier supporting her screamed. The other soldiers unleashed bullets and killed all the men they could find. Collin knew he was going to be sanctioned for what he did but he could not let Una get killed. The law enforcement agencies would call and ask and probe and even give warnings but they did dangerous jobs for these people with no assurance whatsoever. They only had each other.Collin rushed to Una's side. She was barely breathing and only holding on by a thread."I told you that we should do it together," Collin said tears dripping from his face.Una was so batterer and blood was dripping from all parts of her body. She had managed to get only minimal injuries from Pablo but Roger who was now laying lifeless had given her enough injuries to last a lifetime.Collin pulled Una up and carried her bridal style towards the entrance. He entered a car that was waiting for them to transport them to the hospital."Thank you for taking care of me," Una said I'm a whisper clutching to Collin's shirt. If she died now she would have no issues with life. She lived and fulfilled her goal."Stop speaking, we would be at the hospital in no time," Collin said refusing to take his eyes away from her small face."I am glad I got to say goodbye to you" she continued in a whisper."Stop talking nonsense," Collin said in a whisper scream."I will see my parents now and rest in peace" she continued. She could feel herself floating in space and she knew she was slowly departing."Drive faster" Collin yelled at the driver who was already breaking the speed limit. They pulled right in front of the hospital and Collin ran inside with her in his arms screaming for help."It's an emergency attend to us" he screamed over and over again. The doctor rushed to them and gave them a bed. Collin dropped her to the bed and stood. His shirtsoaked with blood from her body."Save her doctor," he said feeling his chest tightening."We have to take her in for an emergency surgery...." the doctor said."Do what you have to do I'll sign the papers with the nurse" Collin said cutting the doctor. He was used to emergency surgeries and the procedure it took.Una was wheeled away. As she passed in front of Collin a tear dropped from her eyes."Thank you Collin" she whispered before she was wheeled away.A tangible amount of hours later the doctor came out to meet Collin waiting in the family waiting room."How was the surgery?" Collin said standing up to the doctor."It did not go well but we have to transfer her to the intensive care unit. She lost a lot of blood and went into cardiac arrest twice during the surgery. She is currently in a coma" the doctor said his voice as sorry as he could."When can I see her?" Collin asked. She might be in a coma but Una was a strong little girl. She would wake up. That was what Collin choose to believe. She would get through thisKINGDOM OF SLOSALIA 1505"Your Worship it is Xisuthra," the man at the other side of the door said. "Come in," Emperor Asalan Enlim said. "Kill me your Worship," Xisuthra said bowing to the ground as he entered. "What have you done that deserves death?" Asalan asked. "I dare to bring bad news to you" the man replied. Xisuthra was the right-hand man of the Emperor and was the only one fit to deliver news and come close to the Emperor when he was working. "Bad news?" Asalan asked. What could the bad news be? Since Asalan took over from his father when he died things had been relatively peaceful. The stronger neighborhood country Iduivacan had stopped surprise attacks on them since he promise his daughter Ninsab Enlim as a wife to the prince of the neighboring kingdom. "The princess is dead," Xisuthra said bowed to the ground repeatedly. "What?" Asalan said the train of thoughts in her mind snapped back to reality. "Which princess?" he added. Although, he loved all his children
It was certainly impossible that the body was there when they got inside the room and there was no way that the body could have been dropped in by anybody. Xisuthra looked back at the bed where the princess lay and the strange body on the ground beside him. It was impossible that the princess was in two places at once and that one was living and the other dead. "What do you mean the princess?" Asalan asked taking careful steps forwards. To be honest he had prayed earnestly that his daughter came back to life. He knew he was a weak leader who could not stand up for his people but he loved his life and wished to live. He never asked to be the leader. The responsibility fell on him for just being the crown prince. "Your Worship, please stand back until I can confirm the identity of the body," Xisuthra said coming to use his body to block the emperor. Xisuthra's life work was to protect the emperor no matter what it might be. His family had the opportunity to be in charge of protectin
Xisuthra moved swiftly to prepare a secret chariot that would move the dead princess to the secondary palace. On his way, he met with Inal Enlim. Inal Enlim a concubine who was promoted to become the empress after the empress died. The reason she was promoted was that the crown prince Aranar Enlim was her son. Xisuthra bowed upon sighting the empress with her entourage right behind her. She stopped when she also saw him. She wondered why he was in such a hurry and where he was going. "Your royal Highness," he said greeting her. "Xisuthra what is the hurry about?," Inal said when she saw the urgency in his steps. "He Worship had ordered something urgent to which I must tend to Your royal highness" he responded carefully enough not to give away too much information. After all the emperor had ordered that he trust no one. Xisuthra even suspected that the emperor was suspicious of him also. The only reason why he was still on the mission was because he was the only one close enough t
Irkal watched as Xisuthra left the room. She quickly closed off the quarters of the princess and left the environment. She had always been uncomfortable with how free the princess had been. For most of the princess's life, she had always made a point of duty to eat untasted food. Neither the emperor nor the empress was aware that the princess was eating food without anyone tasting it. Bringing it up now was not good for anyone. Irkal was unaware of the plan of the Emperor but she trusted him as a good leader who made the tough decision when necessary. Irkal takes the remaining food from what the princess had eaten and made her way out of the palace. If she used the chickens in the palace and they indeed die because there was poison inside then the palace would be in uproar from detecting the poison and trying to find out where it came from. She was going to buy some chickens and take them to her father's house, feed the chickens the food, and wait for the result before reporting t
In a few minutes, the chicken was falling dead on the floor like they were not just lying all over the place a few seconds ago. "Just as I suspected. The Princess had been very healthy so for her to suddenly throw up...." Irkal said her sentence trailing off at the end. "How do I get to tell the Emperor about this without offending him?" Xisuthra said contemplating. He had also suspected that the princess was killed but who would dare kill the princess and sabotage the chance of peace in the kingdom? "We better get back to the palace," Xisuthra said turning on his feet. Irkal followed suit. Soon they were all at the palace. Xisuthra waited till the night fell and everywhere was quiet before he moved the princess to the prepared carriage. The strange woman was yet to wake up. Xisuthra and Irkal successfully moved the dead princess to the secondary palace. At the secondary palace, the body of the princess was cleaned with a substance that would not allow for decay. It would be tab
Una opens her eyes and stares at the ceiling above her. The ceiling shone with the gold used to line the edges of the calling. There were some intricate drawings on the ceiling. This was not something she had been to before. The last she knew was of her being transported to the hospital. This was not the hospital. She heard a voice speaking. The princess? The empress? Where was she now? Had she died and made it to the afterlife? Was she now going to rot in hell for all the killings she did? 'Well God I on my killed the bad guys' she thought within her. Surely she would not be punished for punishing evil. She heard the door close before she stood up. The room was vast enough for a two-bedroom apartment in the small corner of town. Her room was big too but this was outrageous. The small-looking girl was backing her with her head resting on the door. She took a small sigh and turned back only to be startled by the exact look-alike of the princess finally awake. Irkal did not know the
"Got here? Who brought me here,?" Una asked confused. She wished the girl would stop talking all formal and tell her what exactly was going on. Did Collin bring her and leave her here? "Where is Collin?" she asked and the girl seemed confused. "How did I get here?" Una asked. "The Emperor's bodyguard saw you laying down there," Irkal said pointing to the spot where she was seen. "So you mean I just appeared out of nowhere?" Una asked. "Yes, it was like someone dropped you there but the door was locked and we can't find any true of an external person" Irkal explained. "No way, "Una said smiling. "Okay, I give up. You got solid actors and a good game plan. I agree that you have been able to successfully prank me" She added. Irkal wondered what gibberish she was talking about. Maybe she wasn't right in the head. "Who put you up to this" Una said walking cautiously towards the girl. If she wanted to she could snap the girl's neck without any thought but that would do her no good.
'Middle ages?' Una screamed internally. Why would this little girl say Lauds except this was the middle ages or a bad dream that she was going to wake up from soon? She would wake up at the hospital and see Collin and every other person. Her gunshot wound would have been healed. 'Wait my gunshot wound?' she thought to herself. "Who treated my gunshot wound? " Una found herself saying out loud. "What is a gunshot wound?" Irkal asked. "You don't know what a gunshot wound is?" Una asked perplexed. "Am I perhaps having a bad dream?" Una asked out loud. Irkal shook her head. She has heard enough gibberish for a whole year. "Wait where is my mobile phone?" Una said her hand going to the pocket of her trousers and then to her shirt. She then realizes that her clothes had been changed from what she was wearing previously to a nightgown. "Who changed my clothes?" Una asked. Irkal sat down on the ground near the door. She was not going to answer any more questions. She would give the
