CHAPTER 127

DIMITRI & KIRA

The council committee convened exactly at twelve noon but they were ten minutes late. The surprise Kira had for Dimitri took precedence over everything else. When they all reached the main room, the council members were muttering amongst themselves.

“I hear congratulations are in order?” the chairman of the council spoke. Everyone could hear a snap in his voice. Dimitri slowly led Kira inside, who was already panting due to the advanced pregnancy, and made her sit first.

“Thank you, councilman,” Dimitri smiled as he sat beside her. Alan and Sharia Whitaker took seats on Kira’s left, but Taron stayed out of the hall with twins and Brina.

“We had convened here to decide where Kira should go and not to give you an opportunity to marry her,” the chairman barked.

“My apologies, chairman,” Kira smiled. “Actually, it was my idea. Our first two children are, but I did not want even our third child to be labeled as bastard,” she added.
