Chapter 13

"You're up early. Don't you need to rest for your shift later?" Luisa asked with piercing eyes that showed she sensed was something off with Sophia.

She had gone to wake Ann up and get her ready for school but she saw Sophia had beat her to it. Although Sophia had ended her shift earlier than usual the previous night, Luisa knew her daughter to be one who would still spend the whole day in bed, sleeping off like a tired log.

Sophia was no where near lazy as Luisa had always known Sophia slept such long hours because she has her and could trust Ann's responsibility to her but today wasn't a sight she beheld often.

"Good morning mom. I'll drop Ann off at school today if you don't mind." Sophia said admid fixing Ann's hair.

"I don't mind you doing that. She's your daughter of course but what I do mind is you looking all dressed up just to have her dropped off at school." Luisa remarked.

"Why? We're you expecting to see me in rags instead?" Sophia retorted.

Luisa ignored her and left the
