“Now what?” Kendra asked later that evening as she sat along with the other six at their usual spot around the High table in the library, each of them sporting looks of weariness and dreariness at how things had turned out. They had been successful in defending Dnakle... or scratch that, the fates had worked in their favour, but even then, they were unable to celebrate their little victory because of how misery still hung in the air.

Every now and then a loud wail would pierce the air, wafting into the opened library as some wolf mourned the loss of a loved one, the sound striking chords in their hearts as each of them realised just how close they had been to being in the same position, or even worse... dead.

For Kendra and Killian, the feeling was even more intense. It was very much obvious in the way they clung to each other, having not left the other’s side for once even with all the day’s strenuous activities.
