Eve's Downfall

Little giggles escaped her mouth as she watches the life opposite of hers. In her sight was a bunch of kids running around a massive tree laughing and playing. Afar from them were their parents casually holding out a mini picnic area for the kids. 

"I wonder how does their world feels like..." she whispered reaching for the water-like mirror. She felt nothing but coldness. 

"What they have is a cruel world, Tara. It should be known to you by now" she turned around to face the voice from her back. "Lilith, you were there" she stood from her seat and bowed her head to the Fairy God, also her grandmother. 

"What are you doing here? Why are you not in the pond?" with a straight face, the old Lady, Lilith strutted towards her and scanned her. She reached for her hair and made a few rounds of finger combing. "Tara, darling... When will you learn to fix your hair?", says Lilith as she tilted her head. 

Tara unconsciously touched her hair which made Lilith's brow raise. "Forgive me, Lilith. I must head to the pond now" she quickly turned away and run towards the massive door. In a loud voice, Lilith warned her, "No running Tanya Radella." 

"She's sure quite a creeper" Tara whispered to herself. She stopped on her track and closed her eyes. 

"You will feel it. Like something's coming out of you and it would feel like the color of yellow'' she recalled the voice of her mother. 

She closed her eyes harder as she felt nothing. Nothing felt like coming out. Nothing feels like yellow. Do I even have wings? she thought to herself. She's already 16 but she can't still fly. Mainly because her wings aren't coming out. 

Fairies are born with a wings meant to spread the moment they are given birth to. But, she's different. She didn't have the wings to spread when she was born. She was not a full fairy after all. She is a product of a collision between fairy and human. She's not even sure if she would get a wings. 

"Tara!" Odette, her only friend. Odette is popular with everyone. Fairies like her. She's favored by the elders. Some say that she could take over the throne of the Fairy God but, that's not how it works and Odette cares less about it. 

"What's the future Fairy God doing here?" Tara frowned at her. She told her many times to stop calling her that because the fairies around them doesn't seem happy to hear it. 

That is right. Tanya Radella is the next-in-line Fairy God. "I was actually on my way to the pond. What about you?" Odette gave her a smirk which made her shook her head. "No way Odette. Again?" the place was filled by their laughter when Odette nodded. 

"I swear, I really knew Shayla has it in her" Odette was talking about making out with another fairy. It is a thing she normally do that elders don't know about. What they know is that a lot of boys are persuading her unaware of the fact that Odette is kissing every girl she could kiss. 

"So that makes her gay?" Tara innocently asked. She will always be like a baby girl when with Odette. "I don't think so. I'm assuming she's just curious", Odette answered. 

Every flowers they ran into, Odette would pick one and hand it to Tara. It was a habit ever since they were a kid. "You know what, Shayla is actually something. Like, I'd like to do it-", Odette stopped midway when she saw something unfamiliar from afar. 

"Tara, look!" she stretch her arm to point as the forbidden garden. "What about it? We can't go there", Tara said but Odette is already walking towards the garden they're forbidden to enter. 

"Odette!" she whispered in a manner that Odette would think she's shouting. She looked around the area before following Odette to grab her before something worse happen. 

"Odette, stop!" but Odette is already stoned to her position. In front of them was a garden far from how they imagined it to be. 

"What the hell? Where's the flowers? Where's the shimmers? Where's the fruits? What am I- are you seeing the same thing Tara?" infront of them is a disclosed garden inhabited by a family, no, clan of serpents. A hissing sounds are surrounding the whole place and that is not how they imagine the Garden of Eden. That is not what they've been told about. 

There should be a bed of rare flowers. There should be trees glowing from the sunlight and golden apples hanging from those trees. There should be a sound of singing birds. The place should be glowing. That is the Garden of Eden they know. 

"Is it broken? Should we tell Lilith about this?" Tara grab Odette's hand and was ready to do what she was thinking when Odette stopped her. "Tara, you've got to be kidding me. First, we cannot tell Lilith. She would find out that we went to the forbidden garden. And second, this does not looks new to me. This looks like that this is already like this for a long time. Can't you see the number of those snakes?" confused and bothered, Tara ran her fingers trough her hair. She sighed and look at Odette only to scream loudly. 

"Shit Tara!" Odette joins her screaming when she realised she had a snakes on her back. By instinct, her wings grew out which left Tara to the ground. 

"Odette! It's still at your back! Come back here I'll pull it away" but Odette was already panicking. There were different kind of snakes and Tara keeps on running to follow Odette who is now infested with snakes. 

"Odette! Come down!" Odette seems not to realised that they are making a scene and not long enough, someone would find out. 

A large set of fangs from an unimaginable stretched mouth shocked Tara. "No, no, no. Odette! You have to come down now!" but that was before a large scream escaped from Odette.

"Ahhh!" a scream escaped from the helpless man as his blood gets drained by the two vampires. 

"Oh to possess great power" a man chuckled upon hearing it and asked, "Is being a regal vampire not powerful enough for you?".

"We are superior here but our eternity is not yet guaranteed Kieran. Remember that" Karma, the first born of the current generation of Regal Vampires stated. 

"You sure are always worked up for power, Big sis. But, do you even know the way to those fragile, magical, enchanted fairies?" Kieran laughed like he can't believe what he said was true. 

"I don't even know why those things are holding the serpents. It's not so like them", the two of them shared laughter before sharing a drink from a person they killed a while ago. 

In her most sophisticated way, Karma raised the guy's right arm. "For eternity?" as she looks at Kieran who did the same thing on the guy's right arm. "For eternity" and they suck the remaining life of the poor man.
