The past

a Midst her thoughts, Chloe could only imagine what was going on in their mind. What was he going to do. Now she has become an elder in the family and he had to listen to her. It was ironic how things have turned. She remembered  what happened that time as if it was yesterday. Everything come into her mind swiflty

The loud slamming of the door could be heard through the apartment floor as a woman ran out of the apartment. She ran to the elevator and bumped into an old woman who was just getting out

"sorry" she apologized to the woman in a trembling tone. The tremor in her voice could not escape the old woman. She was concerned. Trying to reach out to the young lady she turned back to her but she had already entered the elevator and pressed the ground floor button.

"Hey hey are you okay?" she reached out her hand to stop the elevator from closing but it was too late. She shook her head and muttered to her self "this young lads are always on the run, can't they solve their issues without being dramatic?" thinking of something "hope she will be okay"

Inside the elevator Chloe Richard could not control the emotions running through her. Her hands were trembling as she covered her mouth suppressing the low sobs. Tears rapidly flowing from her eyes as her legs gave in to the weakness she was feeling as she slowly fell on the floor.

She could not believe what she had seen and heard

For the past three years she had dated him, loved him did everything with him in mind how could he do that to her. The words pierced her heart more than anything she had faced before. The opening of the elevator disrupted her flow of thoughts but not her pain as she struggled to stand on her feet. The couple entering the elevator looked curious as they made way for her but no one asked her if she was okay. She ran from the luxurious building through the parking lot and then headed down the road

All along, she did not notice she was bare feet. The small hard gravels on the road pierced right through her feet but she did not feel the pain as much as the one in her heart. It was getting dark and the dim light on the road hid her stream of tears. She had left her phone and handbag in the apartment as she ran on it.

She didn't have money on her and getting a taxi was not in her mind though she wished she could reach her home faster.

She had just gotten her internship letter that evening and wanted to share her good news with her longtime boyfriend. They had made arrangement and places where they wished to go for internship. She was only twenty years and so was he. They ah planned to get married as soon as their internship was over and once they get absorbed into these companies.

Her Internship was hard to get and could be a miracle if it happened but she still got in. The Intercom Fashion house was a big company that did not take their interns on the whim. One had to have the capabilities to back up their request. She was a good student and on top of her class. Her designs were amazing and one of her dress according to the internship could be used for showcasing this coming season.

With that the company offered her paid internship with the promise of employment if she performed well. Eager to share it, she ran to him. She could not get  hold of him on the phone hence coming to his apartment.

The scene of him and her friend making love was nothing compared to words he said to her.

Coming from a poor background, she had always worked hard to get the best grades to get good job and maybe in the future she could start her own company. She had no time for relationships when he came along but her friend persuaded her. Of course with the perseverance of Ryan Williams, her guarded heart was swayed over time.

For every date and time spend with Rayan was amazing and Zoe was at the center of it all. She would ask her what happened between then and of course she would share with her. She didn't get a clue of what kind of a person she was. Living with her only relative, her grandfather never approved of him. Like he said, he was not a reliable young man. He was not comfortable leaving her with him incase something were to happen to him.

She had never seen the rest of her family as grandfather had cut ties with them before she was born.

She was bleeding when it started to rain as she crossed the road without looking. Her eyes was clogged with tears fogging her views. It was almost too late when she heard a loud screeching right next to her. A black Rolls-Royce Boat Tail stopped a few inches from her before it could hit her.

She stopped on her track and fell down shocked. Her heart was pounding so loud that she could hear it herself. The driver got out of the car shouting at her

" Do you have a death wish? Why would you cross in the middle of nowhere without looking? Do you think you could afford it if the car were scratched because of you?" This man did not even care if she was okay or not. Just concerned about the car being ruined.

" Raphael, lets go. I am getting late" The man inside the car did not look concerned at all as his majestic cold and hoarse voice sounded from inside. The man named Raphael said in a more submissive tone as he urged Chloe to get out of the way. Struggling to stand on her feet, she walked forward in the middle of the street rather than going back. All along saying nothing.

The man at the back of the car looked at her for a moment but he noticed her feet was bleeding as an oncoming car spread its headlight on her. He frowned and asked the driver that had already started the car to stop.
