“I’m at the gate now, come pick me up,” Jessica read aloud from the text message Jane had just sent her.

With a soft sigh, she quickly typed back, “Give me a few minutes.” As the message sent, she slid her phone into her back pocket and stood up. Straightening her shirt, she gave herself one last look in the mirror before turning on her heels and heading out of her room.

It didn’t take long before she made her way through the grand hall and opened the front door. The moment she stepped outside, she spotted Jane waving enthusiastically by the gate. Jessica gave a small smile and walked over to let her in.

As soon as Jane stepped inside, her eyes widened in awe. “This place is amazing. Wow,” she whispered, turning slowly to take in the luxurious furniture, the marble floors, and the elegant chandelier hanging from the ceiling.

Jessica smirked as they walked back toward her room. “I like the place too,” she said casually, tossing her hair over her shoulder. “The best part is that it’ll s

“Fuck,” Raina muttered under her breath, slapping her arms multiple times as she tried to drive away the swarm of mosquitoes dancing around her. Their tiny wings buzzed mercilessly in her ears, only fueling her frustration. Her skin itched with fresh bitesShe glanced at her phone for the fifth time in two minutes, groaning when she saw the same update. The Uber driver had texted her over ten minutes ago, claiming he was “just around the corner.” Yet here she was, still standing on the roadside, alone, irritated, and becoming a five-star buffet for every mosquito in the area.“Where the hell is this guy?” she muttered, pacing in a small circle. For a brief second, her fingers hovered over her phone screen, her mind contemplating whether or not to call Aaron. Maybe he could send someone to pick her up. But just as quickly as the thought entered her head, she dismissed it with a scoff.“Like hell I’m calling that arrogant prick,” she said to herself. She would rather sleep on the street

The sharp sound of glass shattering echoed across the marble-floored living room. The once-soft atmosphere instantly shifted into one of heavy tension, thick enough to choke on.“What is this?” came the voice that followed, cool but commanding, laced with irritation and absolute authority. It belonged to none other than JessicaThe maid standing near the grand white armchair trembled where she stood, her fingers curled tightly into her apron. Her eyes were fixed on the Ground, right where the orange juice had splattered and the shards of expensive crystal now glittered“Y-Your drink, ma’am,” the maid managed to whisper, her voice barely audible and shaking just as badly as her knees.Jessica stepped forward, the soft click of her high heels marking each step like a countdown. “My drink?” she echoed with a sarcastic laugh. “If I recall correctly—and I always do—I specifically told you to add ginger to the orange juice. Now, I want you to use that mouth of yours to tell me: was there an

“Wait, what?” Raina froze, her breath catching as she didn’t expect to hear that name from her brother’s lips. She stared at him, her eye brows raised. “Lucas? Lucas Kingston?”Ryan nodded, clearly confused by her reaction. “Yeah… Is something wrong?”Something was very wrong.Raina’s heart began to pound. Of all the companies in the city, of all the people Ryan could have worked for, it had to be Lucas Kingston. The Same one who barely looked at her when she visited the Kingston estate. The one whose name always came with tension wrapped around it like barbed wire. And most of all the same one Aaron doesn’t really get along with. She ran a hand through her hair. “You seriously need to start watching the news more often.”“What’s that supposed to mean?” he asked.“It means,” she said, her tone sharpening with frustration, “that I’m in this fake relationship with Lucas Kingston’s brother, Aaron. Are you finally catching up?”Ryan blinked, still not understanding the urgency in her voic

“Thank you,” Raina whispered as she got out of the car. She knew that Aaron was going to take her to her brother’s little apartment, but she didn’t know why she didn’t have to direct him. It was even starting to frustrate her that he knew so much about her, and yet he wasn’t saying a word.“You’re welcome,” he said, already sensing her frustration. “Would you like me to get you dinner?”She stopped in her tracks, turning back to look at him with her head cocked to the side. “Are you being serious?” she asked, and he nodded, like he didn’t as two questions.“Lasagna?” he asked, and she had to fold her hands in front of her chest.“If you know so much about me, then you should stop asking.”“I just want to know if your pregnancy cravings have started.”Raina blinked. That was the last thing that she was expecting him to say. She couldn’t stop the small smile from leaving her lips as she crossed the road, heading right to her brother’s house. She tried not to turn back. She could feel Aa

Aaron had been out jogging immediately the sun was up. He never thought that he was going to be sleeping on couches anymore. Not after his grandfather had given him his part of the company. But the stubborn woman that played the role of his girlfriend was more than willing to leave him there. She was the first one to ever stand up to him. There was nothing wrong in anything she said. She was absolutely right. Even Aaron knew. And that was why he didn't want to argue with her.He could see the pain in her eyes when she talked about her parents. Even if he tried to assure himself that it was none of his business, his mind kept going there. He shook his head, taking a sip of his water and ran through the backyard one more time. His chest was hurting too, but he couldn't stop. Not when he wanted to clear his mind. He jogged past the place in the backyard, where he could get a perfect view of the kitchen. He glanced through, and was forced to stop.He squinted as he looked even more, takin
