Lazar's POV

The feel of her soft lips against mine was earth shaking.

For a second it felt like my body wasn't mine anymore, I wanted to feel every part of her body against mine.

Gosh, I missed her

I missed her touch, her scent, her smile, her voice.

“Lazar…” she moaned and I lost all my sense of reasoning. It felt like my brain completely shut down and my instincts took over.

I grabbed her by the waist and lifted her up, her legs wrapped around my waist and her arms tightened around my neck while our tongues explored each other.

“You are going to be the death of me Miriam.”

I slowly made my way to the living room. Almost tripping on the little side table beside the couch but I was too focused on having Miriam on my arm to be bothered about anything.

As soon as we laid down on the couch ready to take things to the next step, the annoying sound of a phone buzzing pierced through the air.

“Your…your phone is ringing.” Miriam said halting out passionate kiss slightly pushing me back.

It took every ounce of self control in me not to grab the phone and their it out the window.

“Leave it.”

I grabbed her neck and kissed her forcefully, raising her shirt up to feel her bare skin.

But the damn phone won't stop ringing.

“Lazar…maybe it's work.” She said again while I buried face in her neck, groaning in annoyance.

I was clearly aroused and needed relief but the damn phone won't stop ringing.

Whoever is blasting the phone better have a solid reason for interupting me or I will personally gun that person down.

“Wait for me, I will be right back.” I pecked her lips gently fixing her clothes before I stood up.

As soon as I made contact with the buzzing phone my anger increased tenfolds but when I saw the name displayed on the screen instantly knew it had to be important.

It was Rodosov, he knew better than to interrupt me so it had to be important or life threatening.

I gave Miriam one last look before walking to the kitchen area to pick up the call.

“What?” I asked, my tone a little bit harsher than I intended but he just interrupted me from a very intimate moment.

“Boss I have information on the Russians that were found around madam’s house.” He said and instantly my interests was piqued.

“Go on.” I urged him to continue.

“We were able to find a traitor in the organisation who had been selling family secrets as well as business secrets to the Russians. We believe there might be more in the organisation planted by the Russians but this particular traitor was the one who told them about your visit to Miriam’s place.”

Hearing the fact that I had a mole in my organisation made me furious, I clenched my fist and gritted my teeth to calm down my raging temper.

The Russians have always been eyeing my territory but I had always kept them at bay. Now with a mole on my organisation it meant my system was weak and I needed to restructure things.

“Who is the mole?” I asked.

“It Xander, your driver.”

As soon as I heard the name my anger flared up, that bastard dared to betray me after I saved his pathetic life from the slumps.

This is why I don't go easy on people.

“Keep him alive I will be back. Do they know about Miriam's relationship with me?” I asked.

“I don't think so but we can't be too sure.” He answered and that was enough for me to know that Mariam was no longer safe here.

“Let's keep it that way.” I said and hung up the call.

I took several breaths to calm my temper before walking back to the living room but to my surprise Miriam was already fast asleep.

The drugs she took must have really taken a toll on her. She looked drained and exhausted.

I gently lifted her into my arms and took her to her bedroom, laying her on the bed and covering her with the duvet to keep her warm.

I watched as she snuggled onto a stuffed teddy bear by her side and I could not help myself from smiling.

She was so cute.

I had to protect her innocence.

I walked out of the bedroom with one thought in mind I had to find a new place for Miriam to stay.

“Rodosov….”

“Yes boss.” He replied over the phone.

“Prepare my condo on 4th street avenue. I will be moving there soon.”

“Huh? I thought you said you were going to move in with Miriam?” He asked.

“This place is no longer safe and the security here is quite lacking. I need a place where I know she is safe and she works at la amore right? That should be close to her work place and it is my territory, no one would dare try anything stupid there.”

“Okay boss I will work on it.”

I hung up the call and looked out the window noticing a strange van packed at the other side of the street.

I have been in this underworld game for far too long not to know a spying van.

I quickly sent a message to the security officer to check out the van.

I watched as my men slowly approached the van, they must have noticed it as well. But suddenly the car zoomed off before my men got close.

That was definitely a shady van.

I need to find a way to convince Miriam to leave.

She seems to be so attached to her apartment and I can't fault her for it.

I did not like the fact that strange people were lurking around Miriam, I should have expected this but that does not still make it easier.

And that's when an idea struck me. It was a very bazzare idea but it was going to be effective.

That was the only way I could get Miriam out of here.

“I will set this apartment complex on fire.”

It felt like I was having a stand off with a lion.He said he was a mere carpenter but he gave off the vibes of a mafia lord no one would want to mess with.“Well…I can't remember any of that.” I lied. I remember it well. How I was going about saying I was getting divorced just because I had not heard from my husband for some days. But it was not just my fault, he was also at fault for abandoning me.“Oh..really?” He asked, taking a few steps closer while I took a few steps backward. His gaze made me feel like a prey. But then I realised I was home. How did I get home?I sat up from the bed and immediately regretted it as soon as I did.Every single part of my body protested with each movement I made and I was…. completely naked.“What the hell happened last night?” I massaged my temple with my fingers as I tried to recall the events of last night but the only thing I could remember was dancing on the dance floor and then….I saw him… I remember seeing Lazar.“Oh! Finally awake" Lazar walked into the room with a glass of milk and a tray of breakfast balanced on one arm.“Ahhhh.” I screamed out loud covering my exposed body with the blanket.“Why are you here? And why am I naked?” I panicked.“Well…. Why do you think you are naked?” He asked with a coy smile on his lips as he set dow

Lazar's POV The meeting with Raneesh was just like I expected, he lied to me, making me seem like a fool.“You know Raneesh, one thing I hate the most aside from stealing is lies. I hate when people lie to me. I will give you a chance to clean up whatever mess you started or all hell will break loose. It is better to be my ally than my enemy.” I warned him over the phone.“Lazar, I think there is a mis….” I ended the call before he could complete his sentence.I was not ready for his bullshit.“How are we going to deal with Raneesh?” Rodosov asked as we walked out of the office.“Get me on line with Malik, it seems there is going to be a shift in power.” Since Raneesh has proven to be disloyal, it's high time I got rid of him.I don't play with my business and indefinitely don't work with traitors.“And…. I have something to tell you.” Rodosov said as we got into the car. There was so much work I needed to get done, so I could finally reunite with Miriam. Just the thought of her wan

Miriam’s POV It’s been almost a week of constant nightmare and awkward interaction with Williams at the office. Also I still haven't heard anything from my supposed husband.“So is your husband back from his trip?” Sara asked as she drove me back to my apartment.“Well not at all. And I haven't heard from him since he dropped that last text message.” I replied.“Well, it was quite a hurried marriage. As long as he has no idea about your wealth why don't you divorce him. Don't forget he was the one your father set you up with, he must be up to no good.” Sara replied.Speaking of my father, that bastard has also been harassing me all week.“Gosh… I can't seem to get a break from all these relationship drama. He seems hot and all but I guess he is a douche bag, and I need to prioritize myself right now.” Sara glanced at me and smiled.“What? Why are you smiling?” I asked finding her behaviour odd.“Well I am just so proud of you. You are finally putting yourself first.”I nodded my he
