CHAPTER NINETY SEVEN

CATALINA

Carlos and I continue staring at each other in the room as I think about what he just said. I knew about his wife and kids, so did my father. Is it possible that he could have threatened them? All so that Carlos could turn on me? I can’t put it past him but is that really how much of a threat he views me as? Why would he go to these lengths just to keep an eye on me? It all makes no sense. From the look in Carlos' eyes, I can see the sincerity but then again he is an expert liar, this could all just be a lie.

So many things run through my head as I look at him,

“Tell me what happened, Carlos. What happened at the meeting between Dante and Scot?”

He looks at me and I can see the hesitance to speak written all over his face.
