Kasey’s POV

I couldn't sit still no matter how hard I tried. My feet kept moving across the living room floor, back and forth, while my eyes kept darting to my phone every few seconds. The screen stayed dark. I had no calls or new texts from Landon.

They had been gone for most of the day already, and the silence was eating me up inside. A heavy, sick feeling sat in my stomach, like something bad was about to happen.

What if something went wrong? What if the meeting didn’t go the way they plan

He nodded, still swaying us to the music. "Yeah. Our families too. But only them... no one else. I had to ask your parents and mine for their blessings first. Couldn’t do this without that.""You really asked them?" The idea of Landon formally asking my parents for permission to marry me sent a new wave of tenderness through me."Of course I did," he said, brushing a strand of hair from my face. "I wanted everything done right. I warned them not to say a word to you, though."A warm rush of love filled me up. I rose up on my toes and kissed him softly. He kissed me back fiercely with one hand cupping the back of my head like he couldn’t get close enough. When we pulled apart, he looked dazed."I can’t believe you’re my wife now," he breathed."We’re not even married yet,""We are in my books," he stated firmly. "Both families have given their blessing. You’ve agreed to be my wife. You’re wearing my family’s ring. And you’re carrying my baby." He squeezed my hand. "That screams married

The blindfold pressed softly against my eyes, shutting out everything except the sound of my own breathing and him. I could feel Landon’s hand wrapped around mine firmly, guiding me forward with careful steps."Landon, where are we going?" I asked, my voice coming out a little shaky. The air smelled like pine and fresh earth, and a light breeze brushed my cheeks. "Just tell me, please."He squeezed my fingers gently. "You’ll see, baby. Just a little farther. Trust me."I did trust him. With everything. But this past week he had been sneaking around, disappearing for hours and whispering on the phone when he thought I wasn’t listening. My stomach had been in knots the whole time. I kept imagining all kinds of things; maybe a doctor’s appointment he didn’t want me to worry about, or William still threatening him, or something worse.Today, he’d told me to wear the emerald green dress he’d bought me last week and my favorite heels. He’d said we were going somewhere special, but he’d refu

What if—"Kasey."My mom’s voice cut through the spiral. I hadn’t even noticed her come closer. She took my hands gently, stopping me mid-step. "You need to calm down.""I can’t," I said quickly, shaking my head. "Mom, they haven’t said anything. It’s been hours. What if—""If you start panicking like this," she said softly but firmly, squeezing my hands, "you’re going to stress yourself out, and that’s not good for the baby. Your body reacts to everything you feel. You need to stay calm fo

William’s gun arm sagged a little and the fight left him momentarily."Why? If you didn’t like the marriage arrangement, you should’ve said so. I would’ve canceled it. I would've found another way." He told his son.Darren’s lips quirked in a sad, almost apologetic smile. "But then you would have found another woman for me to marry. And I didn’t want that." He released his father’s wrist finally, stepping back but still holding his ground between us. "I wanted a wife who would understand that I would never love her romantically. Who would accept that I would never touch her, but that I would care for her, provide for her and give her a name. Not every woman wants that arrangement. But Kasey… she did. She needed the protection, the name. It worked for both of us."William stared at him hard. "Why would you marry a woman and then not touch her? That doesn’t make any sense, son."Darren straightened his shoulders. He looked at his father, then at me, then at the others in the room."Bec

"I’m ready to give up my life," I said. "Right here, right now. But you promise me one thing, William. You don’t touch anyone else. Not my dad, not Tyler, not Howard. And sure as hell not Kasey."William’s lip curled. He didn’t say yes or no. He just stepped closer with the barrel aimed right at my forehead. My knees felt weak, but I slid off the chair slowly and dropped onto the floor."Please," I said, looking up at him. "I’m begging you. Take me if you have to. But let the others walk out of here. They didn’t plan this. It was me. All me from the start."Before William could answer, Tyler dropped to his knees too. "No," he said loud enough for everyone to hear. 'Kill me instead. Reaper is about to be a dad. He’s got a kid coming. I don’t want my sister robbed of the man she loves and the father of her baby. She needs him. And he’s the future president of the club. A lot of guys depend on him to keep things running, to hold the brotherhood together. Me? I’m just the second in comma

  • FALLING FOR THE WRONG BROTHER.    Chapter 169

Landon's POV Things had been going great. Perfect, even. I had Kendra’s blackmail, I’d watched her sign the divorce papers with a hand shaking so badly she could barely hold the pen, and I’d thrown her out of my life for good. And I had Kasey back. Almost. Her body was mine again, her heart was leaning my way, but that damned piece of paper—her marriage license to Darren Antonellis —was a chain around us both. We needed it gone. I needed to marry her, properly, before our baby came. I needed to give them my name. But getting it required walking into the lion’s den. And William Antonellis wasn’t just a lion; he was the goddamn king of the jungle."So," William said, his voice a deceptively calm rumble that made the hair on my neck stand up. He swirled the amber liquid in his glass. "Let me see if I understand this… family matter."He looked from my old man to Howard to Tyler and back to me. "My son. My beloved son. Married your daughter," he nodded at Howard, "when she was already

Oh God. We were getting robbed. Right there. In broad daylight. My hands shook as I fumbled with the wedding ring on my finger. It felt impossibly tight around my ring finger. Finally, I managed to slip it off and let it drop with a sharp clink into the grubby palm the man held out. My phone follo

I stopped and glanced back at him. He’d pushed his chair back and was already on his feet. He walked around the desk slowly, like he was giving himself time to change his mind. For a second, I just stared in confusion. What was he up to? Was he about to take back everything we’d just talked about?

My thumb hovered over the screen, shaking just enough to piss me the fuck off. I stared at those words like if I looked hard enough, they’d rearrange themselves into something that didn’t feel like a kick to the balls. What the hell did I mis mean? I missed you? I miss you? The seat belongs to you. It will always belong to you.My brain felt like it was short-circuiting, sparking and frying behind my eyes. This… this wasn’t the script. For years, the only thing I’d seen in my father's eyes was cold disappointment, and a simmering frustration that I was never quite goo
