14. SHE LOOKED JUST AS GRACE

Getting out the cab right in front of William home gate she stood there staring hard at the familiar yet unfamiliar gate.

Back then, when she had found out that Imelda was the cause of her mother to die of anger, she had come back here to seek an explanation from her, only to be captured and tortured to her death. That memory was still vivid in her mind.

Taking a deep breath, she walked through the gate heading to the main house.

"miss Anastacia," the gate man called upon seeing her. She proceeded to the house and was welcomed by the rude maid,

“Hello miss,” Anna did not respond and glanced towards the living room.

Maid was surprise by her action, muttered to herself,” What is wrong with her today?”

However, once she recalled Tomas summoned Anna, she pursed her lips.

Who did not know about Anna’s awkward position in this household?

Anyway, Anna couldn't care less about what the maid thought. Upon entering the living room, she saw Tomas contorted face.

The entire William family, with their potential son in-law were all there. She knew this was going to be fun. It was time for her acting.

Raising her eyebrows, Anna asked surprisingly, "You're back from the police station so soon?"

Slap!! Without even speaking a single word to Anna, Tomas slapped her hand across the face.

Even though she Tomas to not let her off so easily, she had never imagined that he would just slap her without even saying a word.

Speaking of which, ever since Tomas married Helen, he barely cared about her, but he had never hit her before.

Anna lowered her head and her expression changed.

Raising her head, she touched her red and swollen cheek with one hand. Upon raising her head, a little more, Tomas could see that tears had welled up in her eyes as if she could not believe that he had just hit her right now. She gave him a pitiful look.

Tomas heart wavered a little, as he looked in Anna’s eye that were similar to her ex-wife grace

seeing her like that reminded her of grace and how she always hides her pain and cried in secret.

Now, Anna looked just like his ex-wife grace.

Tomas held back his hand that was stinging. He could not believe himself that he had just hit Anna in a fit of anger. She was her daughter after all.

Seeing Tomas’ conflicted emotions, Helen gaze shifted. She quickly helped Anna up and asked sympathetically if she was alright.

With her fakeness she turned to her husband asked” Tomas how could you hit a child like that?”

"That's right. Sister, are you alright?" Imelda asked, concerned. She did not even bother wiping her tears, letting them continue to roll down her face shamelessly.

Anna knew this scene very well it was the mother –daughter sympathy card they knew Tomas always sympathize with the gentle.
