WILLA’S POV

My heart weighed heavily in my chest as I listened with horror, pain and anger to a story that had completely changed the trajectory of Gallahan’s life.

He ended the tale with the assurance that he was no longer as vengeful and as angry as he once was, but he also told us that to completely forgive humans for what they had done was not on the table at the moment.

I didn’t say anything about it. No objection. No comment. Nothing.

After all, I had come to terms with the fact that Gallahan had dealt with his pain and trauma in his own way and that I couldn’t force what path of healing he should take. It was his road to choose and his journey to make. My role was to offer him strength and light if he needed it.

The stubborn heaviness I felt stayed the same way even after we had managed to lull the twins back to sleep and tuck them back into bed. They still chose to sleep in my room, leaving me and Gallahan the option to sleep beside them or to retire to the spare room in the h

WILLA’S POVEverything and everyone seemed to have been frozen in time. No one dared to move, speak, or even breathe.Horror and confusion marred the youthful face of my son, his round eyes flooded with unshed tears. My attention flew to Gillian, standing as still as a rock outside the warehouse and clutching the fabric of her ankle-length lilac cotton chemise—one that my Mom must’ve changed her into after she had been found.“U-uncle… U-uncle Lewis is…” Calisto stammered, his voice quivering like a harshly strummed guitar string.“Cal,” I said as placatingly as I could when the silence had stretched far longer than I could bear. One more second of the suffocating and eerie stillness would’ve left me shriveling in discomfort or, worse, breaking down. Even then, I mustered every bit of my composure and gentleness, projecting it in my frame and in my voice as if I wasn’t wracked with a maelstrom of a thousand emotions I couldn’t quite name and sort out. “Sweetheart…”But then there were

  • FATED TO A TYRANT   KILLER

GALLAHAN’S POVMy heart seemed to have been permanently lodged in my throat as I watched Willa being held as a hostage; a handgun pressed harshly against her temple.“Hardly seems fair,” I gritted out. Still, I lifted my bloody hands as a show of surrender, even though I fucking knew well as hell that there was absolutely no way that Lewis would not keep his promise. But I desperately needed to buy some time to think of a way out of this unfavorable situation. “How about a fair compromise?”Lewis scoffed. “Compromise? A fucking compromised? Did you bother to compromise with the humans you tortured and killed, whose land you pillaged, looted and claimed after? No! There is no compromise for someone like you, Wick. It’s either Willa’s death or yours. Now, pick! I kill her right before your eyes, or you kill yourself and she gets to leave and return to your children.”In the back of my mind, my wolf howled in fury and agitation, but I forced myself to cling to rationality. Because lettin

  • FATED TO A TYRANT   UNEXPECTED PROBLEM

WILLA’S POVRegret and self-loathing slithered in my veins like poison, and it felt as if it had taken away my ability to say anything more.Damn it.I was too stupid.Perhaps I was no different from Gallahan, who would let his emotions overrule his logical thinking more often than not.“Oh, would you look at that,” Lewis drawled with a wide, sadistic grin. “Willa is wide awake.”I shot him a glare, but I still made an attempt to look as if I remained hopelessly feeble. If I could succeed in lulling him into complacency about my strength’s state, then perhaps the element of surprise could be an ace up my sleeve and underestimating me could be his downfall.“How could you do this to me, Lewis?” I asked as I slowly lifted myself a little on my spot, letting my elbow carry the weight of my upper body. I then made a show as if that one simple movement caused every bit of energy in me by huffing as if I was losing my breath and letting out a little moan of pain. “W-we were friends. Calisto

  • FATED TO A TYRANT   TRAITOR

WILLA’S POVIt was hard to keep pretending I was as good as dead when clarity trickled into me in steady waves and my strength sipped back into my bones and into every sinew of my muscles with every second that ticked by.After all, I wasn’t an actor. Sooner or later, they would catch on to the fact that the antidote was working and I was regaining my vitality at an even rate. Then there was another worry of mine: the amount of antidote my body could take before I got overdosed by it and started getting its negative effects instead.Bloody damn hell.I needed to think quickly of how I could escape my cage and flee from a group of armed men. From my rough guess of their number, the odds weren’t exactly in my favor.‘Will… Can you hear me?’ I thought desperately as I tapped into my mind link with my brother. ‘William. Please… Can you hear me? Are… Are the twins okay? Please tell me they’re both alright. Gods… Please Willian. Help me. Help me, and bring Gallahan with you. There are a lit

  • FATED TO A TYRANT   INSIDE

GALLAHAN’S POVI fell on my ass as air left my lungs in one clean and swift swoop. My heart grew cold, and my veins seemed to have morphed into frozen rivers, leaving my fingers and toes numb. For a solid minute, I stayed on the ground like I was nothing but a stone statue.Unblinking.Unflinching.Unmoving.The world around me seemed to stop, warp, and disappear. Nothing was reaching me anymore. It almost felt like I was submerged deep under an unforgiving eddy, and the concept of swimming back to the surface or any semblance of safety was an impossibility that I didn’t have the heart to attempt.Because it no longer seemed like I had a heart anyway. It had gone numb.Yet I knew, understood and felt so viscerally the harrowing ache eating at me from the inside out.Time moved strangely. I didn’t even know how long I stayed rooted in my spot, unable and unwilling to move a muscle.Willa…Willa was… dead? No. No. No.It can’t be. There was no way.Right?I would’ve felt something, anyt

  • FATED TO A TYRANT   GUNS

GALLAHAN’S POV“This must be it,” I muttered under my breath as I slinked closer towards a lone and dilapidated warehouse in an eerie and highly rural area. The ground was overgrown with weeds and tall grasses that nearly reached my knees. Layers of ivy had taken residence on its old walls, slithering all over and even reaching the flat roof.If it wasn’t for the low brilliance bleeding out from the small square windows, I could’ve been persuaded to think that the area was utterly deserted because of how quiet it was.The breeze suddenly picked up speed, blowing angrier as if it had sensed the mounting fury in my blood. This was it.Willa was inside this fucking warehouse, likely suffering in pure agony from what the bastards called humans injected her with. But, with all my might, I tempered and attempted to tame the raging beast inside of me. It would do more harm than good if I simply barged in with little to no idea about Willa’s condition. For all I knew, it might just take one m
