Lyra

“Damian? Who’s Damian?” Mirae’s voice cracked as she stepped closer, her steps heavy, like her body was fighting against her will to move. Her eyes locked on the lifeless body on the floor. The moment she caught a clearer glimpse, her knees gave way.

“Mirae!” I gasped, catching her before her body hit the ground. Her head fell against my chest.

“She doesn’t know?” Jasper asked quietly, his eyes wide. He looked as though he had just realized he had committed some unforgivable sin.

“She knows…” I snapped, my voice sharp, almost defensive. “But not all the details. So be careful around her.” I laid Mirae gently onto the couch, brushing her hair from her damp forehead.

Before I could say another word, the body disappeared. Just like that. One blink and it was gone. My breath caught in my throat, and my chest tightened. I wasn't really shocked cause I had seen things even worse than this.

“What—what did you just say again?” I turned sharply to Jasper, my pulse racing.

“I said,” Jasper

LyraThis can’t be real. No way.My chest felt tight, like someone had wrapped invisible hands around it and squeezed. My thoughts were scattered, colliding with each other, refusing to make sense.No….This isn’t happening.I closed my eyes tightly, pressing my lips together, then opened them again.“Hey…what are you doing?” a man snapped suddenly. “That’s my seat. Get off my seat!”The sharpness in his voice jolted me fully awake.I blinked hard, my vision clearing as I looked up at him, a man stood there, tall, irritated, arms crossed tightly over his chest, it wasn’t Jay.I sucked in a shaky breath, my shoulders sagging instantly.Oh.Thank heavens.I let out a long sigh, my lungs burning slightly as I breathed in and out, trying to steady myself.“Are you deaf?” the man barked again. “Move away from my seat!”I stared at him for a second, still dazed, then pointed at myself slowly.“…Are you talking to me?”He looked around exaggeratedly, eyes scanning the empty seats nearby. “Is

Lyra “Arrgh—”Nick moaned as I grind him harder, the sound torn from his chest, rough and breathless, the next second, I fell back onto the bed with a soft thud, my lungs burning as I sucked in air. My chest rose and fell wildly, skin warm, heartbeat loud in my ears. The ceiling spun above me for a second before everything slowed.God…I was panting like I’d run a mile.Nick shifted beside me, his breathing just as uneven. He turned his head slightly, eyes half-lidded, a lazy smile tugging at the corner of his lips.“Wow…” he murmured, voice low, almost amused. “You’re so good.”I didn’t answer, I pushed myself up slowly, forcing my legs to steady even though they still felt weak beneath me. I could feel his eyes following me, heavy, unfocused, full of that warmth that made my chest tighten for all the wrong reasons. I couldn’t stay here like this.“I’ll get you something to drink,” I said, keeping my voice light, casual. Normal. “So we can go for another round.”The words came out s

NickI couldn’t stop pacing back and forth. The room felt too small, like the walls were inching closer every second. My footsteps echoed sharply against the floor, matching the frantic rhythm of my breathing. The ring was still in my hand, I hadn’t even realized I’d slipped it back onto my finger. My chest rose too fast.Think…..just think.I dragged a hand through my hair, fingers trembling slightly. My mind wouldn’t settle. Every thought crashed into the next, messy and loud, refusing to line up.Then there was a knock.I stopped mid-step, heart jumping.“Come in,” I said quickly, already turning. The door opened, and Ben stepped in.I didn’t even let him finish closing it.“Have you found her yet?” I demanded, my voice tight, almost cracking.Ben’s shoulders stiffened. He looked at me, and something in his eyes told me the answer before he spoke.“We haven’t found her yet.”The words hit like cold water, my jaw clenched hard.“Gather all the guards,” I said immediately, my tone cu

Nick“Come on,” she said softly, almost teasing. “Make me take off the ring.”Rixa moved closer, slow and deliberate, twirling a strand of her blonde hair around her finger, her lips curved as she bit down on her lower lip, eyes locked on mine like she was enjoying every second of this twisted game.I didn’t move, for a second, I just stared at her, chest rising and falling, anger buzzing under my skin like a live wire.God… this girl is really, really crazy. My jaw clenched so tight it ached. How did my life derail this badly in just a few hours? How did I go from waking up thinking Lyra was still mine to standing here, staring at a woman who had completely lost her grip on reality?“Do you really think I won’t take the ring off you?” I asked coldly. Her smile didn’t falter, I took a step closer, towering over her now, my voice low but sharp. “I’ve been watching you, watching how you move…..how you talk and how bold you think you are and trust me, I see you clearly now.”She tilted

Nick“Lyraaaa…”My voice came out distorted, thick with sleep, rough at the edges as I pulled her closer to me, my body still buried deep in unconsciousness. My arm tightened instinctively around her, drawing her flush against my chest. I smiled without realizing it, a lazy, satisfied smile stretching across my face as comfort settled into my bones, she was warm.My hand moved on its own, familiar, relaxed, settling against her body as I pulled her even closer, pressing my face toward her neck. Everything felt right, like the night before hadn’t been a dream. Then…I paused, something was wrong.I inhaled again, slower this time, this smell…My brows knitted faintly as my mind stirred, confusion bleeding into my sleep. This wasn’t Lyra’s scent. It was sharper and different, unfamiliar. What’s this smell? My eyes flew open instantly.Blonde hair filled my vision. My heart slammed violently against my ribs.Blonde…?What the heck? How the heck did Lyra’s hair change to blonde? My thought

  • FIRST NIGHT WITH THE HOCKEY ALPHA    Chapter 125

LyraMy hands moved to the towel instinctively, fingers tightening as I adjusted it around my body, as I stepped closer to him lying on the floor. One hand remained clamped over my mouth, muffling the sharp sound of my breathing. My entire body was shaking now, small, uncontrollable tremors that started in my fingers and spread everywhere else.Oh no.My heart slammed hard against my ribs.He can’t be dead… can he?The thought terrified me so much my knees weakened. I lowered myself slowly, squatting beside him, my movements stiff and unsure. My hands hovered in the air for a moment before I forced myself to act, with trembling fingers, I leaned closer and brought them near his nose.My breath hitched sharply.Oh no… no, no.My legs gave out completely, and I sank to the floor beside him, the cold surface biting into my skin, my chest felt tight, like there wasn’t enough air in the room. I leaned closer, panic flooding every part of me.Why isn’t he breathing? My heart began racing w
