Olivia’s POV Joshua looked down at me as his widened eyes scanned my face to check if I was joking or playing a prank on him. But, that was far from the truth. The truth was that I wanted to show him how much I was beginning to fall for him. In fact, after hearing that he was my mystery savior and seeing how jealous he got but coolly handled it, the way he made sure I didn’t get drunk—even though it would have allowed him to take advantage of me, not that I wanted him to—only strengthened my feelings for him. So, after he left me on my bed and prepared to leave, I stopped him the same way he stopped me after I tucked him into his bed when I found him drunk. “Princess, you are drunk. You don’t know what you’re saying,” Joshua said, tapping my cheeks slightly to snap me out of my daze. Shaking my head, I ran my fingers through his hair. “No. Your coffee really sobered me up and I’m not that drunk. So, I really meant what I said.” Was I lying? A little. I was still slightly drunk but
Olivia’s POV My arms stretched out as a long yawn escaped my lips before I turned to my side to see my empty bed. Two days ago, I woke up to Joshua's face staring back at me after a moan-filled night. By the time he finished his masterpiece, it was already late and he had left his bike at the club so that he could send me back home since I had fallen asleep. So, I told him to spend the night and Joshua obliged. He got into bed next to me, still shirtless, and cuddled up next to me. My god, that feeling was indescribable and I felt like my bed had been missing such an incredible thing all the while. Joshua caressed my hair softly until I fell asleep and the next morning, he was the face first I saw when I opened my eyes. He was sleeping so soundly and he had covered me with a majority of my duvet that he had only a small portion on him that barely covered his bare chest. Would I have ever imagined seeing a hot guy half naked in my bed? Absolutely not. Needless to say, we started out
Joshua’s POV My day had been going incredibly well and honestly, I felt like I was on my honeymoon with Olivia. It felt nice to be somewhere where no one knew us and we could openly show our affection. But, Olivia had her reservations and I respected that. We walked hand-in-hand until we reached the studio and once we entered, I prepared to channel my professionalism. Frankly, I wanted to be done with the day as soon as possible so that I could take Olivia out for dinner. However, I didn’t account for something—or rather, someone. My heart nearly jumped out of my chest when Melody kissed me on the lips, right in front of Olivia. I cursed myself for not realizing the possibility that Melody would do such a thing the minute I saw her rushing toward me. But, I didn’t and now it was too late. My arms which were on the sides of my body immediately pushed Melody away and I wiped my mouth with the back of my palm. “Melody! What the f*ck?!” I yelled as I glared at her. But, she only shrug
Olivia’s POVJoshua looked at me with a mischievous look as the huge, colorful Ferris Wheel spun behind him. He wanted to take me somewhere I could finally listen to him without running away and I didn’t blame him since I had been stubborn in refusing to listen to him. Still, if my instincts were right, and Joshua was planning to take me up on the Ferris Wheel, then we were about to have a problem.“Joshua, please,” I begged softly as he tugged me toward the fair on the pier. But, all he did was grin like an excited kid. “Trust me, Via. I’ve been to this fair before. They have games, prizes, rides, photo booths, and lots of food. You’ll love it!”Part of me felt bad because he looked so excited, while the other part of me debated if I should tell him the truth. However, while I was busy contemplating a
Olivia’s POV Absolute shock paralyzed me when my eyes met the all too familiar pair of eyes that belonged to my best friend of almost ten years. Never in a million years did I expect to see her standing in my living room, especially since she lived in Canada. Yet, there she was, right in front of my eyes, with her arms folded in front of her chest. Am I dreaming? “Adrina! What are you doing here? Wait, how do you know where I live? And how did you get it?” I blurted out a long line of questions and my feet took a few hesitant steps toward her. Her eyes narrowed at me. “Don’t you remember? I got your address when I sent you that care package when you first moved in. Anyway, your roommate let me in before she headed out since she recognized me from your social media photos. I came here to surprise you since I had some time off thinking that you were all alone and would love some company. Clearly, I was wrong.” Well, shit. “Oh, I’m sorry. You just caught me at the wrong time and b
Joshua’s POV Huffing angrily, I slammed the door of my apartment and threw my bag across the floor. I was still in disbelief at how the night had gone from almost being the best night ever to me storming off without looking back despite Olivia’s pleas. As much as I wanted to be there for her, I just couldn’t, not after hearing what Adriana said about me. Her words haunted my mind and I found myself gripping my head tightly before almost trying to rip my hair out. Obviously, I knew that Olivia knew me and based on how she treated me the first time we met, it was clearly not a good memory. I guess, I just didn’t think that it was so bad. But, the way Adrina was disappointed that Olivia was going out with me after everything was a red flag. Was I that bad that she needed to protect Olivia from me? Opening up the cupboard under the sink, I pulled out the bottle of Vodka that I swore I wouldn’t drink after what happened the last time. I just couldn’t deal with the new revelation I rece
Olivia’s POV A lump formed in my throat as I watched Joshua look down at me with his hands in his pockets. His face didn’t light up when he saw me like he used to and his eyes were missing the sparkle of adoration he saw me with. In short, even though the man in front of me was Joshua Taylor, I barely recognized him anymore. Am I destroying all the men I care for? First Sam and now Joshua. “So, can we talk?” he asked again when I didn’t answer him the first time. Nodding hesitantly, I grabbed my jacket that was on the hook and stepped outside. “I’m sorry I can’t invite you in. My roommate is waiting for a few of her friends before they head out for a party, so it will be a little noisy and we won’t have privacy. Maybe we can take a walk to the park until they leave?” “Sure,” he replied briefly before walking silently beside me. Damn! The tension is high! Once we were outside under the slowly darkening sky, we headed to a nearby park that was right beside my apartment building b
Olivia’s POV We stood there in each other’s arms, as the rain continued to pour and drench us, but we didn’t care. All we were interested in was looking into each other’s eyes and slow dancing in the rain like we were the only two people in the whole wide world. Soon, the rain became heavier accompanied by lightning, signaling that a storm was brewing and Joshua tilted my head up. “It’s time to get out of this rain, Princess.” “But, it’s so romantic here,” I replied as my lips pouted sadly. Joshua caressed my wet lips with his thumb before lowering his face to kiss me, softly and deeply at the same time, sucking me into another world. Then, he pulled apart from me and tucked my soaked hair behind my ear. “I know, my love. But, you’re soaking wet and the rain is getting heavier. I’d hate for you to get sick,” Joshua said softly as he stroked my cheek with the back of his palm. Nodding in agreement despite wanting to stay in that position forever, I pulled apart from our hug to wa
