Sebastian’s POV

I couldn’t help but smile as I watched Eloise sleeping beside me. She was still fast asleep, probably exhausted from staying up to take care of me.

She was still wearing her dress from last night. It was a little crumpled already, but somehow she still managed to look beautiful in it.

She didn’t leave me.

She stayed.

I barely remembered what happened last night after we got home. Everything was a blur. I just remembered the warmth of her hands, her voice telling me to drink water, the soft press of a towel against my forehead.

She took care of me—even though I knew she was still unsure if she could forgive me.

I carefully adjusted her position on the bed. I slipped off her heels and gently pulled the blanket over her.

She looked peaceful.

I didn’t want this moment to end.

I wanted us to stay like this. In bed. Safe. Together. But I knew she’d wake up soon.

And I could only hope she wouldn’t leave once she did.

Sebastian’s POVThe smile on my face never faded. After months of trying to win her back—Eloise finally forgave me.And the joy I felt because of that… I couldn’t even begin to put into words. She forgave me.And this time, I was going to make sure I never took it for granted again. After she left, I took out my phone and dialed a number.I knew she told me not to get involved. Not to help her.But this was Mildred we were talking about. There was no way I could just stand by and do nothing.“Mr. Whitmore, Sir,” Marcus greeted as soon as he picked up. “Should I schedule you a flight already?”I shook my head, even though he couldn’t see it.“No.”There was a pause. “Okay, Sir… how long are you planning to stay?”“I still need time. By the way, do you have any news about Mildred? Is she still using the assets I gave her?”After I called off our engagement, I hadn’t spoken to her again. In fact, we’d had no contact at all. She didn’t even bother reaching out.Marcus’s voice dropped a bi

"W-What? We're not what?" I asked again, confused.I was trying to process what he just said.Sebastian offered a faint smile."We’re still married, Eloise. I never signed the divorce agreement. I never submitted it."My lips parted slightly in disbelief. All this time, I thought we were over. I thought that chapter had long been closed."R-Really?"He nodded slowly. Then he stepped closer, gently taking my hand."I didn’t push to finalize it because… I didn’t want to let you go."I stepped back, needing air—space. I could feel the walls around my heart caving in.Everything was crashing into me at once: Mildred’s betrayal. Sebastian’s unexpected return. And now, this truth I never anticipated."We’re still married?" I whispered, more to myself than to him."Yes."I sat down on the edge of the couch, my mind a whirlwind of memories and what-ifs."You should’ve told me.""I was going to," he said quietly, inching toward me. "But I didn’t want to use that as a reason to make you stay. I

Eloise's POVMildred Legaspi.I never thought I’d ever cross paths with her again—especially not now, just when I was slowly starting to open my heart again to Sebastian. Why her? And more importantly… how?“Mildred Legaspi?”Marisse nodded. “Yes, Ms. Everheart. Do you also know her?”I shut my eyes tightly, my fists clenching on instinct. She had done it once—and now she was doing it again.“Get out,” I said, voice low and sharp.I opened my eyes and walked toward my desk.“What?”I turned to her. “I said get out. And tell the bride and Mildred to get ready to face my lawyer.” My tone was cold, but there was steel underneath it—a warning.Marisse blinked, visibly paling, her gaze dropping from mine. She gave a small, nervous bow and silently walked out of the studio with her team in tow.I sank into my chair and let out a long, slow sigh.“Eloise, are you sure about this?” Collette asked hesitantly, her voice laced with concern.I stared at her in disbelief.“Why? What are you worrie

I don’t know what to feel. Just a while ago, I was happy. Finally, after a few months, I felt lighter, relieved. But then… this happened."How?" I asked in confusion.I was already seated on my stool, staring at the unfinished gown—the original one I designed for the bride. It wasn’t supposed to exist yet, and yet the bride was already wearing it… in a televised ceremony.Live. Worldwide."Wasn’t the wedding scheduled for next month?" I asked."The campaign month starts next month. That’s probably why they moved the wedding up," explained Janette, one of my seamstresses."And they didn’t even bother to tell us?" I asked again, incredulous.Collette cleared her throat. "No one, Ms. Everheart. Not a single person from their team contacted us."I let out a frustrated sigh. This was a huge scandal—for us and for my client. The groom was running for mayor, and the bride was a popular actress. They were both stars in their respective fields. Influential and powerful.Which meant that if I t

“Are you leaving already?” Sebastian asked.I stopped midway and turned to him.I had just finished cleaning up after our meal—something he repeatedly tried to stop me from doing. But I insisted.I wiped my hands on the apron I was wearing. Then I took it off and hung it neatly on the hook.“Yes. I still have a lot to finish at the studio.”I picked up my bag.“You’ll be okay now, right?” I asked.I saw him pout a little.I blinked in surprise. He actually looked… cute.It was the first time I’d ever seen him make that face.Without meaning to, a smile broke across my lips.“Are you… pouting?” I asked, almost laughing. His face shifted quickly back to serious, which only made me chuckle a little more.He sighed.“Look. Stay a bit more, please?” he pleaded. My brow arched slightly.“Don’t read into what I did last night, Sebastian. You’re fine now, so I should go.”“But you still went to the restaurant, Eloise.”I looked away.Yeah, I went. But that didn’t have to mean anything.I only
