She tossed for the umpteenth time. After a long and emotional day, it was only right that she had a good night rest but that wasn’t forthcoming. After her call with Anderson, three cups of chamomile tea and thirty minutes of pacing around she decided to sleep.

The sheets were so soft she had almost thought they were made of cotton candy.

The house was so quiet she could have sworn if a pin dropped, she would hear. Maria had returned to her room after ensuring Ruby was well pampered.

Ruby groaned as she pulled the blanket over her head.

“Why can’t I sleep?” She asked herself as she pouted

It was unusual for her as she always drifted off to sleep immediately she touched the bed.

Sighing, she moved to the door and placed her ear against it.

“Just one sound” she whispered as she leaned in more.

She had to admit she was spying on Nate. Her anxiety was over the roof especially since she hadn’t heard him leave his room after their quarrel.
