The night slowly crept in as both sat on the bench, preoccupied. They’d sat in silence for thirty minutes, not an uncomfortable silence though. The lounge was almost empty as the passengers looked for where to pass the night in.

Soft jazz music played on the speakers as they watched the nursing mother put her baby to sleep. Everyone was tired from the day's events and needed a good night's rest.

The airport staff tried to compensate them by offering them food.

“It’s getting late” Ruby commented as she sized her luggage.

She packed the essential things she needed and had planned to have the rest moved to her when she was in Columbia. It didn’t occur to her how much stuff she had until she started packing. She had tried selling so many things but that only reduced it by a bit.

“We should get going then” he said as he stretched his legs.

His eyes felt heavy. It was a day he could never forget, a crazy one but every minute was worth it.
