Chp 15 Pt. 4 The Day of Retaliation

Akira has been restless these last few days. She keeps saying ‘it’s getting closer’, but hasn’t elaborated on what she means. I have given up trying to get her to answer me and do my best to ignore her; though I too feel like something is about to happen, I just don’t know what.

“Akira still being ominous,” asks Derek as he wraps his arms around me from behind.

“Yes and she won’t answer my questions.”

Derek kisses the back of my shoulder as I lean my head against his. We gaze at the view from our window as the sun begins to set; creating an array of beautiful colors of pink, purple and light blue in the sky. Despite knowing we have an upcoming war, the dragon realm has been peaceful. I have enjoyed the down time we’ve had, giving us the family time we have been needing.
