Luna’s Guidance and a Physical Showdown
Summer's POV
“You’re not crying, are you?” Luna whispers.
I lie, gazing at stars. I feel a warm presence in my mind, a gentle voice that speaks to me like a friend. It’s Luna, my inner wolf, the one who awakened in me when I turned sixteen.
I sigh and close my eyes.
“Luna,” I whisper, “Can I tell you something?”
“Of course, my dear,” Luna replies. “You can tell me anything.”
I open my eyes. It’s full and bright, casting a silver glow over the forest. My chest tightens.
“Luna, I… I love Jackson.”
Luna is silent for a moment. She knows who Jackson is. He’s the alpha of our pack, the leader of our family. He’s strong, brave, handsome, and kind. He took me under his wing when I joined the pack, teaching me the ways of the wolves, helping me control my shifts, protecting me from danger. He’s everything I admire and desire.
“I know you do, my dear,” Luna says softly. “And I’m happy for you.”
“Really?” I ask, hopeful.
“Really,” Luna confirms. “You have a good heart, Summer. You deserve to be happy. And Jackson would make a good mate for you..”
I smile and feel a warm glow in my chest. I’m glad Luna approves of my feelings.
“Thank you, Luna,” I say gratefully. “You’re the best.”
Luna chuckles and nuzzles my mind.
“You’re welcome, my dear,” she says affectionately. “But there is something you should know.”
“What is it?” I ask curiously.
Luna hesitates.
“It’s about Amelia,” she says cautiously.
A pang hits my heart. Ameilia has been a pain in my life for as long as I can remember and she’s doing every freaking thing she can to be Jackson’s mate. She’s beautiful, cunning, and ruthless. To think that she left the pack before and she returned to our pack a few months ago, seeking forgiveness and reconciliation. She also made it clear that she wanted Jackson back.
“What about her?” I ask bitterly.
Luna sighs and shakes her head.
“She’s trouble, my dear,” she warns. “She’s not here for Jackson’s sake. She’s here for her own gain. She wants to reclaim her position as alpha female, to rule over the pack with an iron paw. She doesn’t love Jackson, she only wants his power.”
I clench my fists and feel anger rising in my veins.
“I know that,” I say fiercely. “She’s a liar, a traitor, a bitch.”
Luna nods and agrees.
“She is indeed,” she says firmly, gripping my arm. “And she’s not going to give up easily. She’s going to try to win Jackson back by any means necessary.”
A cold shiver run down my spine.
“What do you mean?” I ask nervously, looking around as if expecting to see her lurking in the shadows. Luna looks at me with seriousness and concern, her eyes piercing mine.
“She’s going to try to seduce him,” she says gravely, lowering her voice. “She’s going to use her charms, her wiles, her tricks to make him fall for her again. She’s the reason Jackson rejected you.” I gasp, my eyes stinging. My heart sinks and my stomach churns. I can’t believe it.
“No,” I say desperately, shaking my head. “I–I don’t know what to say.”
Luna nods and comforts me.
“He does love you, my dear,” she assures me. “He loves you with all his heart. But he’s also confused and conflicted. He has a history with Amelia, a bond that’s hard to break. He feels guilty for what happened between them, for hurting her feelings, for rejecting her pleas. He feels torn between his past and his present.”
I sob, burying my face in my hands, wondering how this could happen and asking helplessly. Luna wraps me in a warm embrace and smiles gently. She strokes my hair and whispers soothing words in my ear.
“You can trust me,” she says confidently. “I have a plan,” I look up at her with tearful eyes. What plan to fix this mess?
“What–” I start to say, but she puts a finger on my lips and shakes her head.
“Shh, not now. Just trust me, okay?” She leads me to the door. Maybe she knows something I don’t. Maybe there’s still hope.
I hear a voice dripping with hate and look up to see Amelia and her minions standing at my door. “It’s the rejected mate!” she sneers, making my blood boil. I shake my head, getting up quickly to shut the door. But she’s faster. She slams her foot against the door, stopping it from closing, then smirks and pushes it open, barging in with her friends. I stumble back, feeling trapped in my own room. “Get out,” I glare at her, pointing at the door. “No!” she says simply and chuckles. She walks towards me, her eyes gleaming with malice. “When are you leaving anyway?” she adds, grabbing my arm and twisting it painfully. “I told Jackson you are bad news so soon you should be out of here.” She digs her nails into my skin, making me wince.
“Stop it!” I shout.
Then she pokes my forehead and I lose my mind. My claws grow out and so does canine.I lunge at Amelia, catching her off guard. She dodges, but I claw her cheek. She screams in pain and fury, her eyes turning yellow; a werewolf like me but not as strong.
“Get off me, you freak!” she yells. “You don’t belong here!”
She snarls and swings her fist at me, but I duck and kick her in the stomach. Amelia falls back.
“Amelia, are you okay?” one of her friends asks, worried.
“Help me, you idiots!” she snaps. “She’s crazy!”
Her two friends are not going to watch idly. They rush to help her, but they are no match for me either. I am faster and stronger than them, thanks to my alpha blood. I dodge their attacks and counter with my own, leaving them bruised and bleeding.
“Stop it! Stop it!” one of them begs. “You’re hurting us!”
“You started this!” I shout back. “You should have left me alone!”
I'm about to finish Amelia when a loud roar interrupts. I turn, see Jackson at the door, eyes blazing red, the pack's alpha, clearly unhappy. He glares with anger and disappointment.
“What are you doing?” he shouts. “Stop this madness right now!”
Healing and Luna's Cunning PlanSummer's POVI pull the thread through the torn flesh, biting back a scream. The pain is unbearable. I must endure and heal, from wounds and the scars on my soul. They tried to break me. Amelia tried to make me submit, but I fought back.I glance at Luna, who is watching me with admiration and concern. She is my wolf, my other half, my strength. She has a plan to get us out of this hell, to find Jackson, our true mate. But I’m not sure if I can trust her. She says she can call on his wolf power, make him recognize us, make him love us. But what if he doesn’t? What if he rejects us, like Amelia did? What if he hurts us, like they all did?“Luna, are you sure this will work?” I ask her, as I tie the last knot on my arm. “Are you sure Jackson is our mate? Are you sure he will accept us?”She nods, her eyes shining with conviction. “I’m sure, I. I feel it in my bones, in my heart, in my soul. He is our mate, our true mate. He will love us, protect us, cheri
Love, Lies, and BetrayalSummer's POVI wake up. His scent fills the warm, bright room. I see Jackson sleeping, breathing softly. His lips and hair are messy."He's so handsome," I whisper. I smile, remembering last night. His kisses, his touch, his love. How he made me feel things I never felt before. How he explored every inch of me, how he made me moan his name.He whispered sorry. He rejected me in front of the pack. He loved me, wanted me, claimed me.But guilt gnaws at me. I lied to him, used my power. This is not real. He doesn’t know the truth, what I did. But I don’t regret it. He’s my life, my home.Quietly, I slide out of his arms, hoping not to wake him up. I need to face Luna, to tell her what I did. He pulls me back, holding me.“Stay with me,” he mumbles, sleepy. “Where are you going?”His soft kisses on my neck make me shiver. His heart beats against mine, his body warm and strong. I want to stay. But I can’t. I look into his eyes, and for a moment, I lose myself in h
Chapter 6Jackson's POVI hated Amelia for making Summer leave, she was being all possessive since her return, I don't even like her attitude. Her attention is weird, her care is obvious. Her pleasure is the same, her concern is very rapid. It's just way out of my league, and I can't deal with her constant nagging and troubles.“Why would you make her leave?” I was pissed at this lady standing in front of me, I wished I could just smash her head on the wall and make her pay.“Can't you see that she doesn't deserve you?” “That's my decision and not yours, If you would be kind enough to use the door”“Are you asking me out of your room?”“Leave” I snapped, tossing a pillow at her, she got lucky that my hands were far from the flower vase, she would surely get hospitalized for her attitude.“I'll surely show you that she's not worth the chase, Alpha” She stomped her feet on the ground before walking out of the room. I chuckled at her childish behavior, I skipped that part about her, she'
Chapter 7Summer's POVThe whole world turned dark as soon as Amelia ran back to the castle, I knew there was nothing on this earth that I could do that'll stop her from showing whatever she had to Jackson, this was deeper than I thought. I hoped that Jackson wouldn't do something that we all would regret as time goes on.“What do you think Jackson would do when he finds out about what we did?” I was hating myself for even agreeing to this in the first place, it felt like I was going to be punished severely for what I did, and I couldn't decipher the thoughts of Jackson when he found out I had him tricked.“Well I don't know, but we can't settle for less” My wolf seemed a bit consensual about the entire matter, it felt like she wanted this to happen.“I warned you that this wasn't right and the slim chances of us getting away with it, and now you see the outcome” I retorted, wishing I could turn back the hands of time, so I can be able to repair the bonds in a more natural way.“Hey w
Chapter 8Jackson pov“Just take her to the courtroom" I ordered the guards as they carried Summer, who was sobbing at this point, knowing that she was going to be banished from these lands.“What would you do about the people gathered in the courtyard to listen to your verdict?” I was even shocked that some people were gathered in the courtyard, knowing that this wasn't supposed to happen this way because I never asked for any gathering. Amelia must have organized the crowd to see to Summer's departure.“I'm not the one that asked for that, so whoever got them here should make them go before I lose it” I growled as she stared at me, running her hands through her hair.“What do I tell them?… oh don't worry about it, I'll do it myself.” she divulged, “You're the one who had them gather around right, so fix whatever this is” I walked out of her, heading straight to the courtroom.I was glad when I walked into the courtroom, all the council members were all present, I guess they were al
Chapter 9Amelia “Now that she's gone, we can have that dream life we talked about”I uttered, imagining the world with me and Jackson, knowing how beautiful it would be, there would be lots of love and happiness, everyone would be so happy that I don't think I would ever get sad when I'm with Jackson because everything he does in my eyes are right to me.“What life?” I was surprised at Jackson’s words, was he really saying these words to me, I really didn't understand why he was acting all weird since Summer's departure.“The life where we get to live like husband and wife” I giggled as he laughed so wild that I was even scared by his sudden laughter.“Isn't that so cute?” he uttered as he walked up to me, for me to understand his words perfectly.“Do you think I would get married to you?” He stutters, “No I don't think, I know you would get married to me” I uttered as he clasped his hands, startling me.“That's beautiful”“I wish you could look in a mirror and ask yourself if you'r
Chapter 10Amelia“Finding a council member to be on my side would be hard, but I would have to try, so I can be able to have Jackson pinned to me on both sides.” I muttered to myself, knowing that my friends wouldn't even know what to suggest at this point. They can't conceal words, so it's no use letting them know about my plans. “Who do I go to?” I wondered who among the council members was the right fit to woo my words to him and relay it to the council to discuss, once it's on the council's table, it would be decided.“Why don't you target the head of the council, his words would be the verdict and Jackson sees him as a mentor, that would be the easiest way to get to Jackson” My inner voice was right, making the head of the council a puppet to me wouldn't be a crime, it would be one of the biggest achievements in my life?“What if he asks for something in return?Men of his caliber don't give out gifts, they always want to be paid in the same coin.” I stuttered, knowing that he w
Chapter 11 Unknown POVBeing the head of the council edges me with so many duties that sometimes I don't even sleep at home or even attend to my children. Although they're young youths, they ought to have my fatherly love, but they don't because the work is so tedious and since the death of Jackson 's father and the death of my assistant, it's been hard for him to elect a new Assistant to work alongside, he couldn't even find a better replacement for me, knowing that I've served for a very long time.I couldn't deny the fact that Summer was a beautiful girl and very talented. She truly loved Jackson and I wouldn't mind blessing their marriage if it were to come to pass, but she failed in her duties by trying to trick him into falling in love. She was caught by Amelia, if not for the evidence, no one would have believed her words, and there's no salvation for a sinner in my eyes. I can't give second chances even if there's a possibility that he or she would change, I rather take the
