Chapter 18

My body was shaking after I heard what my brother Willow had told me. Mom pressed her temples, so I ran in her direction to check on her. She was crying on the corner of our couch.

“Margaux? Your dad and your brother…”

Mom started to panic, so I immediately grabbed her to embrace her.

“Hush, Mom. I swear everything will be okay. We will save them both. Dad and my brother will be fine, I promise you that.” I responded to her.

Mom stopped from crying just to look at me. I wiped her tears away and she smiled.

“I will wait for you, Margaux. Save your dad and your brother because I can't live without them. They are also important to me.” I smiled from what my mother had told me.

I get up from sitting on the couch to face my brother back. He looked worried as I stared at him.

“We have to rescue them, Margaux.” He muttered, so I nodded my head.

“Yes. I will rescue them, despite how all of you treated me.”
