**Bella's POV**

Chad draped the robe around my shoulders and fastened it tightly in front. I couldn't help but grin at him—he was so sweet and attentive to me. I had seen him get angry and make even the most powerful Alphas tremble. I felt like I could ask him for anything, and he would give it to me.

“Did you speak to Lorna and her parents?” I asked, playing with the lapels of his suit.

“It’s done. I broke off the engagement, although it was never official,” he replied.

“I’m relieved that you’re no longer engaged, but I also feel guilty about Lorna. If it weren't for me coming into your life, she...” He placed a finger gently on my lips, and I closed my eyes, feeling the addictive warmth his touch sent through my body.

“You saved her from a miserable life. You saved both of us. Now, she will have the chance to find her fated mate. Let’s just hope he’s not a terrible one.” I nodded in agreement.
