Chapter 4: Chapter Four: Come Home with Me

A few minutes later, a long, black Bentley SS slowly pulled up beside Elizabeth Forster.

Pete Melville's stern face appeared inside the car. "Elizabeth Forster!"

"Huh?" Elizabeth Forster was still struggling with her heavy wedding dress. She turned her head woodenly, her eyes appearing even more lively and beautiful under the rain.

Pete Melville was momentarily taken aback, but after a while, he finally looked away, his voice hard. "Get in! Joannance we're already married, we should live together."

"Thank you! Thank you!" Elizabeth Forster was overjoyed; she had no place to go anyway. She scrambled into the car as quickly as possible, soaking the entire back seat, including Pete Melville's crisp suit pants. "I'll clean it for you later."

Her wedding dress was really too big!

"It's fine." Pete Melville nodded indifferently, though no one noticed his tense body and slightly red earlobes. The woman next to him had an overwhelming presence, making him feel a bit warm...

Pete Melville and Elizabeth Forster sat in the back seat, maintaining a not-too-close, not-too-far distance from each other.

The journey was silent.

Through the car window, Elizabeth Forster noticed they were heading towards the outskirts of N City. She had only heard that the area was usually deserted, rarely visited by people.

Turning her head abruptly, she saw the man's chiseled profile even more clearly.

For some reason, Elizabeth Forster sensed a chill on Pete Melville's face.

This man... wouldn't he be planning to sell her off, would he?

Thinking this, Elizabeth Forster couldn't help but feel a chill down her spine. She mustered up the courage to ask, "Where are you taking me?"

"Home."

His thin lips parted, uttering the two words lightly, silencing Elizabeth Forster instantly.

She thought, as the CEO of the Qin Group, Pete Melville, who could afford such a luxurious car, probably wouldn't care about the small amount of money from selling her, right?

Soon, the car came to a steady stop in front of a villa.

It was more like an estate than a villa.

The carefully trimmed trees in the garden, mixed with the scent of earth, filled the air, refreshing the mind. Not far away, a three-story, cream-colored building stood like a palace.

Before she could continue admiring it, the man had already strode through the villa's entrance and sat down on the sofa.

Only then did Elizabeth Forster notice another person in the room.

The man was dressed in a suit, wearing gold-rimmed glasses, giving off a scholarly vibe.

Elizabeth Forster approached curiously, asking in confusion, "Is there something else?"

"There is," Pete Melville glanced at her. "But first, go change your clothes."

As soon as he finished speaking, a servant stepped forward.

Elizabeth Forster took a dry towel and followed the servant upstairs to change.

Once everything was ready, Elizabeth Forster returned to the living room and sat on the sofa.

The unfamiliar man then spoke, "Hello, Miss Forster. I am Stanley Gissing, a lawyer from Law Firm, here at Mr. Melville's request to assist both of you."

Pete Melville spoke indifferently, "As I said before, I still want the shares of the Forster Group that you hold."

Elizabeth Forster bit her lip, feeling uneasy. "I'm sorry, Mr. Melville, I don't have any shares in the Forster Group. I didn't tell you the truth before. I'm really sorry!"

Pete Melville leaned casually against the back of the sofa, smiling. "What if I told you I could help you get the shares your mother left you when she passed away?"

Elizabeth Forster couldn't believe her ears.

How could her mother have company shares?

And when did her mother leave her the shares?

"Do you mean my mother left me shares of the Forster Group when she passed away?" Elizabeth Forster asked tentatively, her beautiful eyes flashing with disbelief.

This time, before Pete Melville could speak, Stanley Gissing interjected, "Miss Forster, after my investigation, it has been confirmed that your mother indeed owned 15% of the Forster Group. Before she passed away, she left a power of attorney, stating that these shares would officially be transferred to your name after you got married."

The information was overwhelming, and Elizabeth Forster couldn't process it all at once.

In just a few minutes, she had suddenly become a shareholder of the Forster Group?
