The doctor slipped a pill in Finn's mouth and quickly took the cup to his mouth. That way, he had no choice but to swallow. Finn looked at Alex and frowned at the doctor's deception but he gave the boy a reassuring smile. Finn returned his smile and lay back on the bed, the smile not wearing off.

"He is doing so much better now." The doctor said proudly as he folded his kits into the small box he brought.

Alex nodded, "He should. Thank you, Doctor."

The doctor smiled and left.

Alex gave the boy a light pat on the shoulder and whispered, "Get some rest, champ. Let me see the doctor off."

He made to leave, but the boy's little hand grabbed him and held on, "You said you were going to come home with my mum today."

Alex furrowed his brow and his smile disappeared immediately, "I said I might, if you get well."

The boy's eyes clouded with tears, "But you promised!"
