You're Grounded

Chapter 7

Selene p.o.v 

“Where have you been, we were worried.” Madison and Kate said in unison as soon as they saw me. “We even had to ask your brother.” Julia said, narrowing her eyes at me. “Do you know what it means to ask Xavier? We had to go to their gym room, with sweat and all selene.” She said, emphasizing my name. I couldn't help but let out a genuine laugh. “Don't act like you didn't want to see Patrick there.” Madison said, giving her a smirk. “Calm down guys, I was resting. I wasn't in the mood to listen to Mrs. Robinson's lecture about humanity.” I laughed softly. 

“Okay but you're good now? Because we're going camping this weekend!” The girls screamed together.

“What?” I asked, raising a brow. 

“Yes you heard me and no room for No. Besides, the principal said it is compulsory.”Julia said.

“Yes girl, you need it.” Madison beamed too. “And tonight is the banquet. Let's get you ready babe.” Madison and Julia screamed at another , dragging me outside.

~~~Julia House [Night Time]~~~

I exhaled, enjoying the cool air that passed by. My body relaxed under the warm water. The pool was spacious, with neon lights that gave the water a romantic atmosphere. I wanted to go home but Madison and Julia refused. They insisted I stay and have fun with them. And honestly, I was enjoying it. The place had this serene calmness, I guess because Julia's parents are never around. I was relaxing in my lingerie, when suddenly water splashed over me. I turned to them, their defiant smirks daring me to react. “Hey stop it,” I frowned even when my smile said everything. “You see, I know you need to stay here.” Julia grinned. “Yeah…” I said softly. “This is fun.” I giggled. 

“So, are you ready for the banquet?” Julia squealed, swimming towards me. “Oh, I totally forgot about that,” I murmured. “Lemme text Xavier.” I said carrying my phone

“No need for that, the whole school is coming.” Madison replied, “Oh I see why he didn't text, he knew I was here.” 

“Yeah, he's coming too,” Madison added. I chuckled at the thought of him, such a nuisance. I was about to drop my phone when a text came in.

“Why aren't you home yet? Xavier told me you're going for a party. You're grounded.”

“Wait…what?” I thought, I knew mom and dad weren't home now. And why would they want to ground me?” I scoffed. 

“Who is this?” 

“Lucan” he said flatly, like I could hear his familiar baritone voice. My stomach dropped, like I could feel the familiar aftertaste this man left spoiling my mood. A familiar sensation hit me just staring at his text. 

“Grounded?” I mouthed the words like it was foreign.

“How did you get my number?.” I text back sharply. “I'm your uncle, now get home” came his next message almost immediately. 

I looked at the text, a frown appearing on my face. 

“No I can do what I want, you can't ground me.” I hit send, rolling my eyes. My heart was pounding and a rush of adrenaline. I didn't know where the boldness came from but I'm not letting him tell me what to do. My phone began ringing and I saw the ID. “Hell no..” I shrieked and before I could stop myself I threw the phone into the water. I hissed out, my annoyance was written all over my face. Madison and Julia turned to me for my sudden outbursts and I waved it off. “I ain't going nowhere.” I whispered
