 Shweta POV

“So was my wife.” Cutting my dad in mid he stated. His voice extremely calm yet one could never miss the rage brewing in it.

I was in no state to probe what he meant. All I wanted to do right now is to save my dad and myself from him.

“Kill me. Torture me. Do whatever you want with me but leave my daughter alone. She is a kid Arjun.” He pleaded repeatedly.

“Paapa no, please don’t worry. I will save us both paapa. Don’t worry Paapa.” I sobbed. Seeing my dad who was always strong so broken, shattered my heart in to million pieces.

“Run sweety. Run far away from them. Contact John. Run from here.” My dad shouted.

BANG

A terrified scream released from my mouth. My gaze fixated on my dad. No one got hurt. It was a blank shot. Yet it took several minutes for my brain to realize that we are safe.

My dad did not flinch not even blinked his eyes as if he is used to the bullet sound and he was expecting this blank shot. And as if he knew it would just be a blank shot.

“Paapa” my voice merely a whisper.

And for the first time after coming here, tilting my head I met my tormentor’s eyes with fear. He was carrying a blank expression as if it was not him who pulled the trigger for a blank shot.

Unnerved and disconcerted with a fuzzy brain, I seized the fraction of the moment to pull against his hold, but it took a mere tug on his part to make me collide against his solid muscle.

“Please leave my dad.” I begged. When his grip slackened a bit, I pulled my wrist free to thrash at him, but he was too quick. Gripping tighter than before he turned me towards my dad. This time I saw true rage directed at my dad.

“Can you see this Mr. Aditya Rajput? The daughter of one of the strongest dons is begging her rival for her dad’s freedom. Tsk Tsk Tsk. Oops my bad, your daughter doesn’t know you are a mobster, does she?” he stated dramatically. My father slowly losing his conscious.

“Paapa what the hell is he blabbering?” I asked shocked and surprised, not knowing what is going on around me.

Turning me around making my chest collide with his, he replied “Oh sweety, I will explain you what the hell I am blabbering. You see your dad over there” he pointed towards my dad “is a boss of one of the biggest mafia organization in Mumbai. Same goes for me.” He said pointing towards him.

“Everything went well until one day he thought about kidnapping my wife who was three months pregnant with my baby.” His grip tightened around my waist, his jaw clenched making me realize how angry he was.

“My dad would never do that. I don’t care who he is, I don’t care if he is a business man or a mobster. But my dad would never hurt anyone let alone a pregnant woman.” I replied defiantly, my voice high and determined. I know my dad; he would not even hurt an ant, let alone a woman.

“You know what Shweta; I am not here to play the truth game. So I don’t care what you think about you father or anyone else in that matter. I am here to kill your father. But now on a second thought, especially after seeing you, I think killing him would do no good to anyone.” He stated as if he is thinking something.

“Will you let us go?” I asked doubtful yet hopeful.

“I will.” He replied tucking a strand of hair behind my ear.

“But on one condition.” His voice cold and detached.

“wh-what condition.” I stammered. My heart drumming against my chest. My brain warning me that I won’t like his answer. Yet I willed myself to listen to his answer.

“Marry me.” And that’s it. My breath hitched. My heart skipped a beat, my brain yelling me to run away yet all I did was standing there without blinking. I didn’t realize I was crying until his thumb wiped my tears on my cheek.

“Marry me and I will let your father live. The ball is in your court.” He whispered near my ear.

“I know it is difficult for you to decide, but I can help you decide.” With that he placed his gun on my right hand. Turning me around placing his chin on my shoulder, my eyes never leaving his. Tilting my head, I looked at his face and realized how close we are, he lifted my hand and pulled the trigger. I didn’t realize whom I shot until the piercing scream reached my ear.

There sat my dad with a shot on his arm, bleeding. Gritting his teeth, he tried masking his pain. I was too shocked, too numb even to blink my eyes.

“Was it helpful sweety?” He asked maliciously bringing me out of my stupor.

“I guess it wasn’t. Let’s take your father’s opinion then. What say huh??” With that he interlaced our fingers as if we have done it a zillion time.

And then he begun sucking all the air out my lungs and my heart skipped a beat. “You see here Aditya, your daughter, I am gonna get married to her” pulling me in his embrace he continued “and I am gonna let you live for the sole purpose so that you see her suffering just the way I saw my wife. So that you can see how I fuck her senseless and in to submission” A shudder passed through my body. Fear engulfing me more than anything.

“Fucking bastard she is innocent. She didn’t do anything. You want revenge then fucking come to me not my innocent daughter.” My dad screamed at the top of his voice. For a second, I couldn’t believe my eyes and ears. He was unconscious and shot yet he behaved as if he was all fine.

“Innocent huh?” he let out a humorless chuckle which sent a chill down my spine and I trembled in his hold. He felt it too, for his eyes met mine for a nanosecond and his grip tightened on my waist. Then I heard another shot and an ear-piercing scream echoed in the room. And I was released from his hold just to run to my dad.

His breathing harsh, sweat covered his forehead, both his arms bleeding due to the gun shot and all I did was cry. “You see princess, even if I don’t kill him, he will die eventually due to blood loss. So, choose wisely and choose fast. You know I am a very impatient man.”  I cried for I couldn’t do anything to alleviate my dad’s pain. I realized how helpless and useless I am.

“Don’t cry Shweta, leave from here. Don’t think about me. Just go from here sweety. Go far away from them. Run sweety, just run. Please go.” He pleaded his voice barely visible as he was losing lots of blood.

“Decide fast Shweta I fucking don’t have time as well as patience to see your fucking drama” the monster stated. One of his men pointed his gun towards my dad’s head. “I will give you three seconds, on the fourth second your dad’s head will be blown by my mam.” He said nonchalantly.

“Will you leave my dad if I marry you?” I asked. My voice barely a whisper yet he heard it all and replied with just a curt nod. And I ended up agreeing to his condition. I was ready to marry him while a gun was pointed at my dad’s head.

Ayaan POV“We want him alive, Ayaan. Let him go.” Screams.“Stop this madness right now.” More screams and more punches. The room is absolute chaos. Screams and shouting echoing off the wall. Some tried stopping me, couldn’t recognize who it was. Then Viren uncle, stepped up, his arms wrapped around mine in a desperate attempt to pull me back, to pull me away from the one person who knows the truth.“Stop it, Ayaan. We want answers and we will get it only if he is alive.” His voice extremely strained but I barely registered his words or the logic, beneath the roar of blood in my ears and the fury pounding in my chest. His body wedging between me and the fucker tied to the metal chair. His face bloodied and body bruised. One eye swollen shut and the other barely open. Lips split, blood smearing down his chin. His fingers long gone from his palms, work of my men. No more pulling trigger job for him.My fist flew again, rage guiding it as it landed squarely on my Shweta’s culprit’s face

Ayaan POV“What’s the story?” I asked again to ease of some tension that has been building up all these time.“Shweta’s mom, Niharika Bhabhi (Sister-in-law) was supposed to get married to some mafia guy, we didn’t know who he was at that time. Bhabhi was against that alliance. She kind of hated her future husband. We four, Aadi sir, Viren sir, your dad and myself, had gone to Goa to meet an investor for our business. We all had been staying at a Five Star Hotel and Bhabhi was getting engaged in that same hotel to that other guy.” Akash uncle stated. My dad continued “The groom was a widow and had a son. But that was not the reason she said no for that alliance. There were rumors at that time that he had killed his first wife just for some sick fun and he was in search of a young bride for him who should also take care of his son. Bhabhi hated that piece of shit. She knew how he was. After all, we all belonged to the same circle. We had heard about her many times at that time. All the

  • Forced Marriage for Revenge   Art of Losing

Ayaan POVPower and money were the lifeblood of their world, that bought respect, loyalty and ultimately, survival. For the men, who lived their whole life on streets on empty stomach had better understanding about that. They were like a double edged sword and they all were willing to wield it, no matter the cost. Those who held power were witnesses that wealth followed power, like a loyal shadow trailing its master. Every mafia man knew that to rise through the ranks, one had to be willing to do whatever it took to grasp and hold on to power. My nana, my dad, my uncles and maybe my mom and her sister knew it too. So, they did what had to be done to survive and rise above the ranks.Victory is not always about fighting till you die or till you win. No, sometimes it’s about mastering the art of losing. The greatest victories come from knowing when to surrender, when to yield. My nana, my mom and my Badi-ma had mastered that art. They knew survival was impossible on that day, if they ke

  • Forced Marriage for Revenge   How I met your mother

“Around thirty- five years ago, we were nothing but local goons. Doing petty crimes, getting the job done for big mafias and so on. But then we all got greedy except Aadi. He knew the risks involved in our line of work and we all knew once we are in, there was no way out. So he warned to not get ourselves involved in all those things but we aren’t the one to listen, like ever.We went for it for obvious reasons, of course. One, more power and two, we had nothing to lose except our lives. And believe me when I say, spending most of your life in an orphanage and then on the streets with no food and constant fear, kind of makes you lose interest in living.” Akash uncle started, reminiscing his old days.“So, you guys did it nevertheless.” I completed for him.“Yes.” Came my dad’s reply from the passenger seat.“We were on a killing spree. Committed series of murders, blasted ennumber of warehouses and so many dons’ houses. We were unhinged. I think in a span of three months or less, peop

Unknown Person POV“Pack everything. We are leaving for Mumbai.” Said my daddy dearest barging in to my room. For heaven sake, it’s just six in the morning. This man has no manners at all, I thought to myself.“Now what happened?” I asked, frustrated to put up with my old father.“I don’t know, what I am going to do with you?” he screamed on my face. “Do you have any idea what the hell is happening in Maharashtra?”“What happened, again?” I stretched the word ‘again’ just to rile him up and got up from the bed and headed to the bathroom to finish my morning routine. And it worked like every other time. Because by the time I was out of the bathroom, my father’s face looked like a ticking bomb which could blast any moment now.“You useless piece of shit, somebody bloody blasted our house. And sent an anonymous mail which has every details of every crime we had committed till now. That bastard is threatening to expose us. Fucking check the phone.” Screaming, he threw his phone which I cau
