I'm the only loser of the Silvermoon Clan. My brother left the Eternal Peaks after he shapeshifted at 100 years old, and was appointed the prestigious Lord Protector of Zohm. My sister is a warrior who single-handedly unified all manner of fae in the hills. As for me, I never shedded despite being over two hundred, even resembling a fox in appearance. Clenching his jaw hard, Father gave up and gave me a quiet piece of land, so I could goof off and eventually die. Having none of my siblings' talent, I'd be moonbathing, chasing hares and living carefreely when the royal hunting party came. Zohm's only princess saw me immediately and brandished her whip excitedly. "That fox's fur is all white! It must be really rare! Catch it—I want its pelt to make the most beautiful cloak ever!" Her brothers happily obliged, sending their men after me. Seeing them I remembered what Father said: If danger ever comes, call for an elder. Hence, I cleared my throat and reared my head. "Awooo!!!" As my puppish howls rang through the hills, Princess Joy laughed so hard her tears were gushing, "Is that dumb fox trying to imitate a wolf? Oh, it's killing me!" She had no idea a pair of eyes just opened in the depths of these hills.
