Ethan thought about waking Lexy up. They were not sure if she had had her dinner already. Aldric looked at her memory with speed as if he was watching a video clip in a fast-forwarded motion. No conversation was heard except when he saw the part where Lexy was making a call. He paused to listen, and Aldric caught the word mom, so he followed his intuition to listen to their phone conversation.

Ethan gently shook her arm.

Lexy hummed her answer. She still had her eyes closed and was feeling so sleepy. Lexy felt like all those sleepless nights she had while fighting against her desire to run into Ethan’s club and find him that she had to go far away and stay there as long as she could; before her classes started, she was finally catching up with her.
