This was a typical example of being caught between the devil and the deep blue sea.

Heimdall was the devil and my inability to shift was the deep blue sea.

"Phew! Think about the devil and he appears."

I thought to myself as I tried to put on a wolf's equivalent of a pitiful look. However, that wasn't possible as animals didn't have much skin to show the emotions they were feeling.

The only way to know any wolf's emotions was to look into their eyes but I doubt Heimdall was patient enough to check out what was going on with me.

The rage was still present in his eyes and I was already hearing whisperings about me flying from one Omega to the other.

" I wonder what's wrong with her always trying to flout Beta Heimdall's rules."

" She's not the only Alpha's daughter to become a tribute so I don't know what's so special in her case."

Another voice which I hadn't heard earlier spoke up. She must have just joined them, I thought.

"I'm not sure she really knows who the Beta is. So she would know better than to go against him every time and opportunity she got."

"Now, she's in for it. I doubt the Beta would let her go this time after all the disobedience she has been doing since we got to their pack."

The first voice repeated and I tried recalling what could be the most gruesome punishment for a werewolf.

I knew without glancing around that everyone was now focused on me.They must have been curious as to how I would act now that I was in my wolf form since I had always been obstinate and stood up to him in my human form.

I continued looking upwards at him without lowering my head. He was angry, no, he was furious at being disobeyed.

However, I couldn't take my eyes off him since I couldn't risk showing him my vulnerable side before knowing what he decided to do with me.

Those Omegas were right, I hate to admit. Heimdall wouldn't let me go this time. I had fallen into his trap and he wouldn't fail to use this opportunity to teach me a lesson.

I had to mentally brace myself in order to accept whatever was coming. We are currently in his turf and here, his rules stand.

"Shift! I command you to! Now or else…!"

He ordered and stepped back a bit but I couldn't carry out his command. Not that I didn't want to but I couldn't.

However, I found it incredible that he would let me go by only shifting back into my human form. That was too good to be true. If it was, it was a pity that I wouldn't be able to benefit from it.

He waited for several minutes and on seeing that I didn't have any intention of carrying out his command, he stepped back from me and made a low whistle.

Within a minute, I was surrounded by guards who looked at me like they were ready to snuff the life out of me. They all looked threateningly.

"Cuff her up and tie her to a tree. With a silver chain."

A simple command from Heimdall. My head dropped down with sadness and I could only watch as the silver chain slipped onto my neck.

About four warriors held me down while the fifth carried out their Beta's order.

I was led to another tree away from the rogue leader and left there to my fate. The scorching sun seemed to have been also ordered to punish me and it shone with vengeance upon me, burning my back.

I could see pitiful looks sent my way by some of those who had been sent as a tribute. I lowered my head and looked off into the distance thinking of the home I had left behind.

I was humbled way beyond what I could take back at home but I had no other options or choice.

I could see that most of the Devil Claw Wolfpack members were actually expecting me to have put up a fight about being cuffed but they never expected me to have been so compliant about it.

I was made to leave my pack without as much as a single change of clothing. I didn't even have a personal item to call mine and when we had hurriedly shifted earlier in order to get ready for the rogues' attack, my clothes had been shredded as I became a wolf.

After the attack and the battle that took place, I saw everyone around me shifting back and making themselves comfortable in new outfits but I had none to cover myself with.

To further make things worse, I couldn't communicate with any of them through the mindlink as we weren't from the same pack.

I also didn't want to risk shifting and being naked among a group of over hundred people. I couldn't let them call me a whore or harlot.

Most of them got orders from Heimdall and I couldn't interact freely with them or else, I would have pleaded with one or two for clothes after shifting but who knew if my request would be honored .

I still had my dignity in spite of my circumstances. What I hadn't expected was Beta Heimdall's reaction. I expected him to figure out the situation I was in but he hadn't. Not that I was a fan of his either.

I stayed cuffed up till evening and the moon was beginning when I began to feel the constraints of the chain around my neck.

"Oh moon goddess, please save me."

I groaned within myself and fell to my legs. All four legs gave out from under me and I was soon lying on my belly as I rolled my head listlessly from one side to the other.

"Awhooooooo!"

I made a desperate howl that was filled with pain as my eyes began to close. I tried to make another desperate howl. This time I wanted to send it home but I couldn't.

My eyes finally closed shut as I succumbed to the pain from the chain.

"Wow. Talk of the devil and he appears."
