Chapter 1813

Author: Cozy Season
20 years had dulled Juan's memory of Stanley, a small potato.

"He's at school," Debra said.

Juan felt a shiver down his spine. Solomon caught the vibe, bolted from his seat, and tore out of the room.

Juan was right behind him.

The students swapped looks, unsure what was going on.

...

At the school gate, a guard waved at Stanley. "Leaving early today, Mr. Copeland?"

"I've got family stuff to handle," Stanley replied, driving off.

In the backseat, Lillian was out cold from the ether.

Stanley was determined to make her pay for what her parents had done to him.

Juan and Solomon hit the empty office, realizing Stanley had nabbed Lillian.

Juan made a call, locking down the school. Sirens screamed outside as police cars rolled in.

The students at the windows gawked, thinking it was a show.

"Where is Farrah?" a girl asked.

Nobody had seen her, but they just brushed it off. All their attention was on the armored trucks outside.

Debra saw through her lame lie instantly."Mom, I've got a question," Lillian said."Wanna know how we found the supplier so fast?""You're psychic."Debra rubbed her forehead. She and Marion had dropped the ball somewhere with Lillian's upbringing.Anyone with eyes could see that."We've got our ways. Kids don't need to meddle.""But Solomon keeps saying you and Dad lead this city. To me, you're just shinier than other parents. He says I'm clueless, so I wanna know if those stories about you guys are true."Debra stepped out of the bathroom, drying her face, and sighed at Lillian's gossip-hungry look. "Fine. They're true.""No way. Did my godfather really fight Dad over you?"Debra choked on her water. "Fight? What're you on about?"Lillian flopped on the bed, hugging a pillow. "I meant, how did you take down the Illuminati? Were you like epic heroes saving humanity?""Stories are just stories," Debra said, ruffling her hair. "We're just another pair of loving parents. Tha

Lillian froze. It hadn't even been half an hour since she had mentioned the powder at school. Yet her parents had managed to track down the supplier.Their efficiency was astounding. Her curiosity flared. "Uncle Ben..."Before she could ask, he cut her off, "Don't ask what's not your business. Your job is to go home, sleep, and get to school tomorrow. No staying up."But Lillian's wheels kept turning. She had to know how they did it.Soon enough, the police carted off the owner and his crew. At the same time, Lillian and Solomon were hustled into a car, back to the Houston Mansion.Lillian was still dwelling on how her parents had cracked the supplier in no time."I told you, they're capable," Solomon said. "Focus on your own stuff. Uncle Juan will be at school for a while. Your next PE test is gonna be brutal."Lillian deflated like a punctured balloon. She wanted to save the world too....Debra and Marion had followed the trail, nabbing the supplier and raiding factories.

No normal kids could pull stunts like that."Come on! I'm doing legit business here," the shop owner protested. "I didn't hurt anybody. Why are you coming after me? If you want a cut, just speak the word. I can hook you up with my supplier. No need to wreck us."Getting whooped by two teenagers was humiliating enough."Where's your supply chain?" Solomon asked, all business. "Who's your contact?"The owner tensed up. "Are you a cop? I've got nothing to say. Just take me in."He'd rather die than snitch. Betraying his supplier meant a reduced sentence but a lifetime of payback."You see, I'm not a patient person," Solomon said coldly. "Talk, or I'll make you wish you had."He took the owner's arm, and with a crack, the joint popped out.Lillian's eyes widened with shock.Solomon had learned the ruthless style of Juan and Jordan at a young age. This was nothing new to him.Lillian, on the other hand, had been sheltered from that side."I won't talk even if you kill me," the ow

Before he could swing, Lillian amped it up. "Help! This guy is selling poison candy and trying to hit me."The passers-by gathered, pointing. Lillian played the rogue to perfection."You think you can con me?" the owner roared. "You don't know who I am.""Doesn't matter," Lillian shot back. "My friend is dying because of you. Own up, or I'll call the police to shut you down."The owner, realizing he had hit a brick wall, quickly switched gears. "Alright, alright. If he's sick from my stuff, I'll cover it. Come, let's talk inside. I already called an ambulance. It's coming. You don't want him lying in the street, right?""Fine," Lillian said. "But you close your shop till the ambulance gets here. No more selling your poison."Solomon, still writhing on the ground, groaned, 'Does she even know what she's doing?'The owner had his guys carry Solomon inside, then slammed the iron shutter down."Idiot," Solomon hissed, pulling Lillian behind him.The owner's face twisted. "I knew y

"Sounds fair," Lillian admitted."You're killing me here," Solomon sulked. "Anyone with a brain would check the stores first.""Good call." She grabbed his arm, dragging him to the shop.Moments later, they stood at the counter. The owner handed snacks to students from a glass case. Those colorful packs were labeled "Dream Candy". The slogan went like, "Want high scores? Eat Dream Candy.""Two packs, please. Pink ones," Lillian said, drawn to the bright packaging.Solomon stared, incredulous. "You're picking colors now?""Sorry, no pink," the owner said. "Boys usually go for blue."He slid two blue packs over. "50 bucks.""25 bucks a pack?" Lillian gasped. "What kind of candy costs that much?"There were no sweets that pricey in this city. Besides, these were not even branded."Cost me 20 to get them," the owner said. "25 is a steal. Don't want them? Plenty of others do. Move along, kid."The students of Seamar City High were loaded, and he only dealt with deep pockets.Li
